Halloween Party Kit and an Autumn Card

This Workshops on the Go Spellbound kit is just perfect for that Halloween party you have been planning. This short, just over 2-minute video explains a little bit about how it works and shows you the amazingly spooky-cute party supplies for eight you can make with this kit. Plus, perky, happy Kristine is always fun to watch!  This kit is only $32.95!

Some basic tools you may already have, such as inks, stamp blocks, or tools are needed to complete this project. The Cricut® Artiste cartridge is also required (Cricut® Artiste Collection Z1790).  Just in case you don't have them already, here is a list of the things I would suggest you consider picking up to go with your kit:
Look at all the great things that come in this kit (1 Spellbound Paper Packet, 1 Exclusive Workshop Stamp Set, Sunset Baker's Twine, Foundry Pin Clips, Jump Rings {not shown}, Step-by-Step Instructional Brochure and Cutting Guide):
As always, there are dozens and dozens of other wonderful products available on my website.   Don't forget that September is just about over, and that means that so are the September specials. There are two stamp sets that you can get for only $5 this month. The National Stamping Month (It's Your Day) set is only $5 ($35.90 value) with a $35 purchase and the Stamp of the Month (Fall Favorites) is only $5 ($17.95 value)  with a $50 purchase. If you purchase the Spellbound Workshop on the Go and a few other things, you will easily qualify for both stamp sets.  As you are checking out, you will be asked if you want to add them to your order. Easy, peasy, lemon squeezy!

Here's another card I created using the September Stamp of the Month. I love Autumn so I love this set!

Heartfelt Wishes Card and a Little Football

"Avonlea again?" you ask. "But of course!" I reply.  I love Avonlea and can't get enough of it.  Not only do I love the colors and patterns of this kit, but I love the name. When I was a little girl (and okay, even as an adult) I loved the Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Avonlea books.  This paper pack just makes me think of those wonderful stories.

This little 4" x 4" card is full of more Avonlea goodness.  I used 2 of the patterned papers from this kit (see the mind colored paper on the far left and the larger floral on the far right?) and then created my own pattern in the middle by embossing the doily from the new Pirouette stamp set with my Versamark Pad and White Daisy Embossing Powder on the beautiful Avonlea Teal Cardstock that comes only in the Avonlea paper pack. I finished it off by embossing the "heartfelt wishes" sentiment (from the Card Chatter Sympathy stamp set) with Cocoa Embossing Powder on a piece of Avonlea White Cardstock and mounting that on some Chocolate Cardstock and mounted it with 3D Foam Tape. Chocolate Cardstock is not included in this kit, but I use  it with it all the time. I think it blends perfectly. For the finishing touches I added a Chocolate Ribbon (on clearance for $4 right now!) knot and a few Pearl Opaques.

Here is a quick detail shot for you as well:
For your convenience I have linked you to the products I used on this card in the wording above. You can order these and dozens of other wonderful Close To My Heart products on my website, 24/7!

Are you sick of my football pics yet? If so, click out of this post now because I'm about to share a few more of Dawson (#10) from the past couple of weeks.  You had fair warning...  (Thanks to Mark Spencer Pics for taking the most awesome photos of Springville High School sports.  He does such a great job!)

Autumn/Halloween (September Stamp of the Month: Fall Favorites) Layout

Happy Monday! I'm back again with another September Stamp of the Month project. This time it's a layout. I created this layout of me from last year's Halloween. I loved this costume and had so much fun highlighting it with neutral Autumn colors so that the colors of the Captain Hook costume took center stage.

I really love the September Stamp of the Month (Fall Favorites) because there are so many yummy Fall images and sentiments to choose from.  I enjoyed using the "pick o ' the patch" sentiment to create some patterned paper that I used here and there throughout the layout, and I just love me some pumpkins all colored and shaded with watercolor pencils. I have included the complete supplies used list for this layout at the end of this email.

September Stamp of the Month: Fall Favorites

Here are a few more detail photos of this layout:

To get this stamp set for only $5 ($17,95 value), all you have to do is spend $50 (before shipping and tax) during September.  Cool beans! If you are ordering on my website, you will be asked if you want to add this set before you check out. On top of that, it's also National Stamping Month. To celebrate Close To My Heart has created a dynamite DOUBLE stamp set ($35.90 value) that is yours for only $5 when you spend $35 (before shipping and tax).  This set is a must have in my book.  How cool is it that if you spend $50 you qualify for both sets at only $5 each?  Pretty stinkin' cool!  When you order on my website, you will also be asked if you want to order this set before you check out.

Single Page Layout from "Make It From Your Heart" and a Pumpkin Card

I created this layout using pattern #17 from our new "Make It From Your Heart" layout and card pattern book.  This book is a steal at $7.95 and includes 16 two-page layout patterns, 2 single-page patterns, and 12 card patterns.

This layout features my dad, LeRoy Overstreet. I love this photo of him because it really illustrates what this layout is all about. My dad taught me that "CAN'T" is a naughty word.  He taught me to try new things, to be persistent and never give up.  This photo is of my dad when he was in a play. He doesn't wear a moustache or beard in real life but he grew them for the character he was playing, and my mom thought he just absolutely had to have a photo taken that way to remember the experience.  The coolest part of all is that my dad didn't grow up singing and acting.  He grew up playing football, basketball, golden glove boxing, and running track.  Music and acting really had no part in his life. It wasn't until I was in high school that he discovered that although he couldn't read music, he had quite a voice.  A few other people noticed too and it wasn't long before some of them talked him into doing some community plays and musicals.  Trying something new like that when you are in your late 40's has to be really intimidating, but it's proof that he lives his beliefs.

Thank you, Daddy for teaching me to believe in myself, to spread my wings and fly, to try new things and to never give up. I love you!

In addition to the layout, I thought I'd share a 4" x 7" card I made with the September Stamp of the Month: Fall Favorites. This set can be yours for only $5 with a $50 order, or for the full retail price of $17.95 and is available only in September.

CTMH products used on my Stamp of the Month card:  September Stamp of the Month: Fall Favorites, Honey Cardstock, Barn Red Cardstock, Colonial White Cardstock, Black Archival Stamp Pad, Saddle Stamp Pad, Chocolate Stamp Pad, Watercolor Pencils, Burlap Ribbon, 2" Scallop Punch, Basic Brad Assortment, Round Sponge.

Lastly, don't forget the AWESOME double stamp set called "It's Your Day" ($35.90 value) that is also available to you during the rest of September only (September is National Stamping Month).  It's only $5 with a $35 order. This set is a must have for any card maker or scrapper.  It's so versatile and has just a little bit of everything inside.

You will be prompted to add both the Stamp of the Month and the National Stamping Month set as you check out on my website with your order.

September Play Group Scrappin' Class Layouts (Avonlea)

Hello!  Miss me? I have been out of town all week and am finally home and back in my little office. I had a wonderful time this past week visiting our son, Easton and his wife, Daysha.  Unfortunately Dan and Dawson were unable to join us (thanks to work and school...bah humbug), but Tannon, Kori, Rick, Daci, Street, Livvi and I all got to go for several days. We even went to watch Daysha perform at Tuachan (in St. George, UT) in both Hairspray and Aladdin.  She was superb. If you find yourself in the St. George area, definitely go see a play!  After that I spent the rest of the week as a guest speaker for a company called My Lazy Daisy at their national convention. I spoke 4 different times and I really enjoyed it. I hope they did too! Whew! I'm pooped. Forgive me for not commenting as much on your blogs this past week.

And now I am sure you are all wondering, "Why in the heck is this post titled 'September Play Group Scrappin' Class Layouts' and all we are hearing about is Karen's famly?"  Never fear! It's coming.  Just humor me and check out a few photos from our week below:

Two of my boys had football games this past week. Here are a few memories of that:
