Valentine Inspiration

Valentines Day has passed, but the emotion hasn't. I made this layout on Valentines Day (inspired by a beautiful layout I found on www.twopeasinabucket.com by Mrs. O) after spending some time thinking about how blessed I am to have so many people in my life that I love and who love me back. Enjoy!

American Idol

I am writing this post to get the word out about Taylor Vaifanua. The Vaifanua family has been good friends of Dan and I for years....um, LOTS of years. I tried to count but it just hurt my head. Let's just say we are old and have been friends since college. Dan and Brian played football together at both Ricks Junior College and Southern Utah University. Taylor Vaifanua (their daughter) is now in the top 36 of the popular TV show, American Idol. Taylor is an extremely talented young lady (16 years old) who would make a wonderful role model for young people to look up to. So, gather all of your friends and family together on Tuesday and Wednesday nights starting @ 7 pm CST. Voting takes place after Tuesday's show and results are shown on Wednesday. There have already been two weeks of narrowing down the top 36. This coming Tuesday (March 3) is the night that you will see Taylor sing as a member of the top 36 trying to make the top 12. There will be 12 singers on Tuesday and then on Wednesday they will choose 3 from that group of 12. Taylor needs all of the votes she can get! So, pass this on to all of your friends and family. GO TAYLOR!

March Artwork

As many of you know, I do monthly scrapbook classes at my home that I call "Play Groups." We are using some really girly papers and designs this month (in honor of my brand new granddaughter). I have posted a photo of one of the two page layouts we will be making. We will also be making 2 more layouts using the same papers and colors. SO CUTE! I hope you like them. I'd love to have you come to a class. Just drop me an email and I can tell you all about how they work.

Brand New Granddaughter!

In my opinion, nothing could be more fitting than a brand new baby on my brand new blog. On Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009 our first grandchild was born. Daci Paras Roberts (5 lbs. 15 oz., 19.5" long) is as perfect as they come, if I do say so myself. My daughter, Kori and her hubby, Rick are already wonderful parents. I was even able to be there for the birth. I cannot even begin to describe what it was like watching my child give birth to my grandchild. I'll try: absolutely miraculous, awe-inspiring, and one of the most special experiences of my life. I was able to spend the last 5 days staying with Kori and Rick and helping with the baby. Coming home today was bittersweet. I am so happy to be back home with all the testosterone...I missed Dan and my wild-n-crazy boys! But, it broke my heart to leave that special little baby so new to this earth. I can smell her now just thinking about her. I love you, little Daci. Life is good!
