Baby Cards for Mojo Monday

I thought I'd play along this week with Mojo Monday! I always enjoy the weeks when they give a circular card and a square card option. I love circle cards and quite often make them and it's always fun to get a new sketch idea. I decided to do both the circle and square since I actually need a boy baby card and a girl baby card this week.

Before we get too far into this post, I'd like to quickly remind you that today is the last day of July, which means today is the last day to take advantage of the Close To My Heart July specials. Click here to read about them.

Here are the Mojo Monday sketches this week that I based my cards on:
Below you'll see each card alone, along with a detail shot of each.  Following those photos I'll include a complete supply list for each card.

Any Day Layout

You may or may not know that our 4th grandbaby, and Easton and Daysha's first baby is due any day.  Today, I decided to use this sketch from Creative Scrappers to make a layout highlighting my impatience. Sorry that the photo turned out so blue. Weird.  It really isn't quite that blue. :)

And, here's the journaling....

All products used are Close To My Heart.

Apple Card - July Stamp of the Month

Hello!  I love the Summer. One of the things that I love most is FRESH PRODUCE!  My father-in-law truly has the most amazing garden of all time. He wins the grand prize at the county and state fairs every year in the produce division and has been featured on the local news and in the local newpapers. Needless to say, his 'stuff' is delish!  He stopped by 2 nights ago with a whole truckload of 'stuff' for us: fresh tomatoes, corn, peppers, carrots, onions, and potatoes. YUM!  That reminds me....this stamp set, "Sweet Life" is perfect for this harvest time of year.  I had fun using my awesome Close To My Heart alcohol markers to color this card (4 1/4" x 5 1/2").  I love how beautifully they blend.  Doesn't that just look like an apple you want to take a big bite out of right now?

This is the July Stamp of the Month and is only available through July 31. Don't miss out!  As usual, you can purchase the Stamp of the Month for it's full price of $17.95, or you can get it for only $5 when you place a $50 order (before shipping and tax).

Here's a list of the CTMH supplies I used on this card in case you want to get some of them for yourself:  July Stamp of the Month (Sweet Life), White Daisy Bulk Cards and EnvelopesBlack Pigment Ink Stamp Pad (you definitely want to use pigment pads when coloring with alcohol markers) Ruby Market Set, Sorbet Marker Set, Smoothie Maker Set, Olive Marker Set, Olive Cardstock, Buttercup Cardstock, White Daisy Cardstock, For Always Paper Pack, Black & White Grosgrain Striped Ribbon, Red Button Assortment, Harvest Twine Assortment.

Happy Pioneer Day!

Here in Utah, July 24th is a big deal. Nope, not because it's my nephew, Carter's birthday...but because in 1847, July 24th was the day that Brigham Young led the Mormon pioneers into the Salt Lake Valley and famously said, "This is the place."

I can only imagine what all of those pioneers who had been walking for months must have thought, "What? Really? Here? In the middle of the desert? With hardly a tree in sight?"  But, their faith in their leader led them to action and it is absolutely astounding to me to look around me and see what has been built in this beautiful valley in the 166 years since that day.

Happy Pioneer Day, everyone!

August Play Group Scrappin' Classes (Chantilly) and Downton Abbey Season 3 Finale

Hi, all! I survived Girls' Camp last week.  Yay!  I'll try to share some of the photos from that sometime this week. I haven't even downloaded them yet.

I will share the August Play Group Scrappin' Class info in a moment but first I must stop and muse, ponder and ask questions. Do you watch Downton Abbey?  Are you caught up?  I just finished watching the finale for Season 3 and am in a funk. I  have had the worst time trying to function today. What the heck? Say it isn't so!  I am obsessed and cannot quit thinking about the ending. My sweet friend, Blythe sent me the link to this blog with a great post about the season finale. If you haven't watched it yet, don't read this until you do. Spoiler alert!  This post made me laugh. I needed it after the jarring ending. Maybe you do too!  http://thepioneerwoman.com/entertainment/2013/02/downton-abbey-season-finale/

Join Me at Disney!

As you know, I just got back a couple of weeks ago from the annual Close To My Heart Convention. This year it was in Orlando, FL at DisneyWorld.  I look forward to this convention all year long. It is filled with fun, friendships, education, motivation, inspiration, and maybe a little exhaustion too (in a  good way).  This photo is of me (center back) and some of my team members at Convention a few weeks ago. Notice the crowns (and that I forgot to put mine on?).  That's because we had a team princess party. Apropo at Disney, don't you think? We all had crowns and wands (they even blinked!) and made sashes with our names on them.  Yes, we are princesses at heart!

Next year our Convention is the last week of June in Disneyland!  Are you kidding? Disney two years in a row? What could be better than that? I am telling you: Disney treats their convention guests like royalty.  Every convention we have at Disney is such a treat!

Why not join me next year?  All you have to do is become a Close To My Heart Consultant (only $49).  You can do it by clicking here.  Easy, peasy!  Then, you can begin your business with CTMH, or you can just buy your 'stuff' at a discount, or somewhere in between. I'm here to help you in any way I can with whatever you want to accomplish with CTMH. CTMH will notify me once you have signed up and I'll be in contact right away to see how I can help.

Here are a few more photos from this year's convention.
The 3 Amigos: Vice Presidents Kristine Widtfelt (Marketing), Monica Wihongi (Training and Events) and Brian Holman (Operations). Yes, they do know how to put on a show!

Company CFO, Owner and Founder, Jeanette Lynton and VP of Training and Events, Monica Wihongi at the annual Q&A for Jeanette session.

Executive Director, Bren Yule and VP of Marketing, Kristine Widtfelt.  Yes, there was a bit of a mishap on stage.  And, it was HILARIOUS!

The 4 of us have started a tradition. We do a photo with our new Idea Books at Convention together. This is our 2nd annual photo.  (l-r:  Christine, Amy, Me, Lisa). Love these awesome girls!

Being a Sr. Executive Director has its perks! This is me headed into lunch in the Director's room.

My dear friend, Fancy Melissa and I. Love this fun girl!

The opening show. Amazing!

Company CFO, Owner and Founder, Jeanette Lynton

My partner in crime, Michelle Snyder and I.  We both received our 20 year awards at this convention.

Kim, Marg and Brenda. 3 of my sweeter than sweet team members. Have I mentioned lately how much I love my team?

Me, Michelle Snyder, Kristine Widfeldt, and Amy McGrew. Kristine is VP of Marketing and the rest of us are forever roomies.

As you can tell, I LOVE CTMH, I LOVE my team, I LOVE what I do....and so can you!  Just head here to sign up and start your CTMH adventure today.
