Christmas in July for Mojo Monday

5" x 7" card

Merry Christmas in July!

When I saw the Mojo Monday sketch this week, I knew I wanted to play. It's a style that is right up my alley and I was pretty sure I could whip something up pretty quick. I have a little basket on my creating table full of 'leftovers' and this snowflake was in there. It is just a chipboard snowflake that I sprayed with adhesive and then sprinkled glitter all over. I had it left over from something I made last Winter and pulled it out and decided it was time to give that little snowflake a home. {Tip: When you have leftovers you know will look great on something in the future, just add them to a little basket in reach where you create. You never know when something in that basket will be "just the thing."}

After I chose the snowflake I thought to myself, "Self, what paper pack is retiring the end of July that you could use to make a snowy card? How about thinking WAAAAAYYYYY outside the box and trying Ariana?"  Self agreed and we went to work. As you may or may not know, Ariana is a beautiful floral paper pack, but it has some fun blue patterns in it as well. I used the stripes and damask patterns and a small piece of the Ariana Grey cardstock. I mixed in a bit of Cranberry Cardstock that I embossed with my Chevron Embossing Folder and then pulled out my My Crush Best Day Ever Assortment. I love pulling pieces from these assortments for accents on cards and layouts. The polka dot piece and the blue and grey chevron piece both came from there.

I stamped a quick sentiment, added a bit of the Ruby Mini-Medley Accents, and a little metal "inspire" piece and went to town. I LOVE how this card turned out!

Thanks for the inspiration Mojo Monday, and thanks for the world's greatest products, Close To My Heart! You can purchase the products I used that you see below (complete with links) on my website 24/7!  It's never too early to start thinking about the holidays!

I just bagged up a huge bunch of extra cricut cuts I had laying in a pile on my desk. I cleaned out the drawer directly underneath and put it in there, but it's still within easy reach. I have been cleaning, reorganizing and purging my craft room for 2 weeks now. It looks so wonderful, but I am afraid to create right now because it took so long to clean. LOL Have a wonderful (and hopefully crafty) weekend!

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who says things like, "Self, what would be the best thing to do here?" Love this card, love your narration even more. :)
