Simply Inspired Blog Hop: Expressions I Products Featured

Welcome to the Simply Inspired Expressions I Blog Hop!  I'm sure you will not be disappointed!   Every project you will see on this hop features a new product(s) from the Expressions I mini-catalog that debuted on January 1.  You can see it and view it page by delicious page here.  You can also order any of the products I've used (or that anyone else has used) on my website.

If you have come here from the beautiful Blythe Shupes's blog, you are on the right track. This blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way all around. If you get lost along the way, you'll find the complete list of participating consultants here.

Today I've chosen to share two projects with you; a one-page 12" x 12" layout and a 3.5" x 8" card.  I've chosen to feature a couple of things from Expressions I:  the Woodland Romance stamp set and the Charlotte Workshops Your Way kit.  I created the Charlotte Workshops your Way as instructed (which makes three 2-page 12" x 12" layouts and a Picture My Life {PML} layout). I used the left over papers to create this layout (paired with some papers from a few other paper packets), as well as the card.  I have included a full products used list, complete with photos and links, at the end of this post for your convenience.

Here are my projects:

"Love This Girl" one-page 12" x 12" layout:  I had tons of fun scrapping a couple of photos of our little granddaughter on Thanksgiving 2015.  She showed up dressed for the occasion (I guess the rest of us were pilgrims) and was too cute not to get a few photos of.
I love the combination of the bold black and white with the soft peachy and grey colors from Charlotte. Don't you?  The gold accents and embossing (on some of the flowers and the deer head) are the perfect added touch.

I just love that deer head stamp embossed. The gold really stands out on black cardstock!

Always remember to add at least a little bit of journaling.  It's so important to include your memories of the event or memory you are scrapbooking.  The photos are darling by themselves, but by adding a bit of journaling, I am leaving the 'story' for generations to come!

And here is the 3 1/2" x 8" Valentine card (fits easily in a legal size envelope):
The perfect Valentine card for just about anyone on your list!

To create the wreath, I just cut a 2 1/2" circle, adhered my "Love" sentiment (which I fussy cut) to the center, and glued black and gold embossed flowers (from the Woodland Romance stamp set) to the edges. I popped the whole thing up to really make it shine and be the focal point of the card.

Now hop on over to the beguiling Beckie Lehman's blog to see her work!  Be sure to visit all of the Close To My Heart Consultants in the hop to get some great papercrafting ideas with many of the new products in Expression I.  There are 16 of us hoppin' this time and you won't want to miss a single project.

Contact me or shop directly from my website to get your Seasonal Expressions I products today. Or, contact me directly (801.360.9896, pedermom@aol.com) with any questions.  Have fun hoppin'!

A Valentine Card and Two Card Buffets

Valentine's Day will be here before you know it.  How about the idea of making several Valentines for only $2 each (including the card, all supplies, paper pre-cut, and envelope) at my card buffets (Feb. 4 and 5)?  I like that idea! Do you?  In addition Valentines, there will be baby cards, thank you cards, all-occasion cards, wedding cards, and so much more to choose from!

These buffets will be held at my home in Springville, UT.  Dates and times to choose from are listed below. I will allow a maximum of 8 attendees at each class so there will be plenty of space for you to work.  When you call or email me to sign up (pedermom@aol.com, 801.360.9896), I'll give you the exact address.

Dates and Times to Choose From:

  • Thursday evening, February 4 from 7 - 9 pm
  • Friday morning, February 5 from 10 am - noon
Here are a few Frequently Asked Questions:

How does a card buffet work?  Easy!  You come, you eat as much as you want (make as many cards as you want) in the time period of the buffet, and then you go home.

What do I need to bring to the buffet?  Adhesive. That's it. I supply the rest.  I suggest a regular paper adhesive of your choice, glue dots, and 3D foam tape or squares. Bring plenty of each so you don't run out!

How many cards can I make?  As many as you want in the time period. The only rule is you have to finish each card completely before you move to the next card.

How much does it cost?  You pay by the card. $2 per card, which includes envelopes. There are a few ways to get your cards for less. For every friend you register and bring with you, you get .25 off each card. So, bring 2 friends, and your cards are only $1.50 each, bring 3 and they are $1.25, and so on.  The other way is to order at the buffet. For every $25 you order (before shipping and tax), you get .25 off the card prices.  Spend $25, get your cards at $1.75 each. Spend, $50, they'll be $1.50...and so on.  Combine bringing friends and ordering and you could feasibly get your cards for FREE!!!!!

How much time will it take to make each card?  That depends on you and how quick you are. It also depends on which cards you choose.  Some cards are a little more complicated, some are simple, and there are some in between.

How many kits are there for each card?  That varies but there are plenty of cards and kits to keep everyone happy!

What does a kit consist of?  All pre-cut pieces for the card, the card base and envelope, all embellishments, and the use of any tools and supplies (other than your adhesives) that are required to put the card together.

What kinds of cards will be available?  A good variety of all-occasion cards, Valentine cards, Thank you cards, birthday cards, baby cards, wedding cards, etc.

What if I love one card and want to make several of that card?  No problem! I just ask that you take one kit of that card at a time and finish that card before you get out another one.

Is there any way to get my cards at a discount?  Yes!  There are 3 ways.
  • When you call to reserve your spot, reserve a spot for a friend that has never attended one of my classes or workshops before and I will take .25 off your $2 per card price, which will get you your cards at $1.75 each.  Bring 2 friends, get your cards for $1.50 each, and so on.
  • The other way is to order at the buffet. For every $25 you order (before shipping and tax), you get .25 off the card prices.  Spend $25, get your cards at $1.75 each. Spend, $50, they'll be $1.50...and so on.

Life is GOOD!

This past week has been a whirlwind!  It began a week ago when my friend, Amy flew in to spend a few days with me before we headed to the Close To My Heart Team Builders event in Salt Lake City.  We spent a few days just enjoying each other, then headed to Team Builders.  We spent the next 3 days at Team Builders. I returned home on Saturday evening, spent Sunday as a tour guide with my hubby for the brand new City Center temple, then had a brand new, straight from heaven grandbaby on Monday, and our twin grand'babies' turned 4 on Tuesday.

I hope you'll indulge me as I share a few of those amazing experiences with you...

Team Builders: I told you a little bit about this last week as I was preparing to go.  You can read about it here.  I love my team and enjoyed learning great leadership principles, business practices, and even took a gorgeous letting class.  Here are a few photos from Team Builders.  I'd love to have YOU join my team.  It's easy, peasy. Just click here.

All of the attendees at Team Builders

I have been very blessed with a team of hundreds that are all so very awesome.  These two ladies are my two Directors, Kimberly and Brenda and they are over the top amazing.
After classes ended on Thursday evening, several of us went to listen to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir rehearse.  Fabulous!

The gorgeous view from our hotel room at the City Creek Marriott
Close To My Heart brought in Waffle Love for an afternoon snack on Saturday.  It was delish. Here I am with my buddies (and roomies), Michelle, Amy and Lisa.
After festivities ended on Saturday, several of us made the trek to Provo to attend the new Provo City Center Temple open house.

I got home late Saturday night, and then Sunday morning Dan the Man and I were up bright and early. We have the privilege of being tour guides for young women on Sundays for the next 2 months at the new Provo City Center Temple.  I snapped this gorgeous shot as we were walking in.

Monday was a BIG day for our family. We welcomed grandchild #6 to the world. Easton and Daysha added Baylor Aloa Pedersen to the family at 7 pm. She weighed 6 lbs. 14 oz. and was 19.5" long. She is a beauty!  We are smitten!

Daysha and Baylor.  Two beautiful girls

Meeting Baylor for the first time

Sage is already in love with her baby sister.

When I saw Baylor, I was immediately reminded of her daddy as a newborn.  Easton's pictures are top left and bottom right.  Baylor is top right and bottom left. Don't you agree they are almost twinners?
Speaking of twins...ours turned 4 on Tuesday.  Livvi and Street make me smile every day. Happy birthday, sweet grandkiddos!
Happy birthday, Street and Livvi!

Check back here on Friday for another card that will be available on my February 4-5 Card Buffets!
