It's a Boy

My friend, Anne is pregnant with her 6th and is due in a couple of weeks (hi, Anne!). Her shower was this week and unfortunately I was unable to go. I am getting her gift ready to take over and here is the card I created. I used the sketch from CPS this week (#122) as my inspiration.

I decided to piece several different types of paper (2 patterns of background and texture paper, 3 colors of textured cardstock) and to cut and piece them together to look kind of a like a baby quilt. I used my waterbrush and chocolate brown ink to go around the edges of each piece to create a little depth and then drew tiny stitches around everything with the smallest My Legacy Writer (.01). I stamped the sentiment in twilight ink and the little doo dads in chocolate ink and then again used the chocolate ink and my waterbrush to add a little shading to the sentiment. I used 3D foam tape to pop up the pewter foundry bookplate and sentiment.

Close To My Heart products used: Sweet Baby Stamp Set (C1359), Aspen Level 2 Scrapbook Kit (X7103B), Winter Textured Cardstock Combo Pack (X5670), Basic Textured Cardstock Combo Pack (X5747), Twilight Stamp Pad (Z2160), Chocolate Stamp Pad (Z2111), Waterbrush, Black Legacy Writer (.01 size, 4275), Pewter Foundry Bookplates (Z1147), 3D Foam Tape (Z1151)

To order (go click on the link below and then click "Shop Online"), to see my calendar with upcoming dates of classes and events, and to view my art, click here. And, as always, you can click on the photo for a larger image.

Have a wonderful Sunday!

Such a great card! I really like how you used the Aspen paper. I don't think I'd ever have reached for that, but now I'll be thinking about it each time I have a baby boy card to make.

Wow wonderful card. I used the same name plate. I just posted my card and now I am looking at all the other cards. I was surprised to see the Pewter Foundry bookplate. But I like your card much better than mine. the colors and patchwork is wonderful!
