Home for the Holidays Card and Our Crazy Fun Week

3 1/2" x 8" card by Karen Pedersen
October is almost over and with it goes the scrumptious October Stamp of the Month.  This swell set is yours for only $5 ($17.95 value) with each $50 you spend on a single order (before shipping and tax). What a bargain!  When ordering on my website, you'll be prompted to add your set(s) before you check out.  Don't miss it. This set is no longer available after 11:50 pm (MT) on October 31.

Not sure what to spend your $50 on?  Why not on some of the supplies that I used to create this card?  There is a products used list, complete with photos and links at the end of this post.

Also, don't forget that this month, when you spend $50 or more, you also get a FREEBIE from Close To My Heart...a surprise embellishement.  WOO HOO!

In addition to share this card today, I thought I'd share a little bit of what has been happening this week in the Pedersen home.  It's been a crazy fun week!

I went down to Cedar City, UT to help tend our little granddaughter, Sage for a few days.  Her mommy, Daysha was dancing and singing in the yearly production by Odyssey Dance Theater of "Thriller" for the week and was busy morning to night with rehearsals and performances.  Easton had school and football and was gone much of the week as well.  I loved spending a few days with Sage!

While there, I got to go and see Daysha in "Thriller." The whole production was amazing, but Daysha was the best part (and I'm not the least bit biased!).  Before the production began, a zombie came and sat down beside me. Instead of screaming, I decided to get a picture!
My very own zombie and I before the show

Daysha danced as a zombie  in the opening number.

She sang as Giggle Girl (a creepy, evil little girl).

And, she was a vampire mermaid in a haunted pirate ship dance number.

Saturday was the Southern Utah University vs. University of North Dakota football game.  Both Easton and Tannon play for SUU and we got a big win (35-17).  Kori was even able to come down for the game so 3 of our 4 kids were there together.  Kori's husband, Rick even stayed home with the kids so Kori could make the 3 hour drive to Cedar City and enjoy a day with grown ups.  THANKS, Rick!

The only one of our kids missing for the the game was Dawson, who, as many of you know, is serving a 2 year mission for our church in Australia. He's been out 17 months now. Only 7 more to go. He gets home early June.  Here are a couple of pictures from his week in Australia.

We drove home from Cedar City to Springville late Saturday night so my husband, Dan-the-Man, could be home to be put in the bishopric at our church on Sunday.  Several of our family members were able to be there to support him.  It was a special day!
after Dan was put in as 1st Counselor in the bishopric
We didn't have a ton of notice that Dan was being called to this position, so unfortunately not all of our family could be there. Tannon and Brookley were throwing a Halloween party for the married players on the SUU team and their spouses that evening.  Invitations had already gone out.  Easton decided to come up anyway and let Sage be Daysha's date.  A great time was had by all!

Gear Up for $5 Digital Layouts!

October is still here and usually I don't announce the next month's specials before they get here, but this month is an exception. This is a special you'll want to gear up for by starting to create now!
November marks the five-year anniversary of Studio J® (Close To My Heart's AWESOME digital scrapbooking program), and that means it’s YOUR lucky month, with five amazing ways to win through Studio J and Close To My Heart social media!

FYI:  Studio J is FREE to play with. There is NO CHARGE to you to create and store layouts until you purchase them.  It's the bomb.com!!!!! Try it out here.  It's so user friendly too! If you have any questions, I'm your girl!  Call or email me and I'm  here to help (pedermom@aol.com, 801.360.9896).

First, throughout the month of November, all layouts purchased in Studio J are $5! That is a savings of over 25% off of retail!

Your second chance to win big must come by sheer luck: every fifth order placed in Studio J during November receives a FREE surprise Close To My Heart accessory in its shipping box! The accessory has a retail value of $5 or more.

Third, if luck doesn’t smile on you in that way, you might stumble upon it by finding a little extra something in your Studio J box. Five “golden tickets” will be sent out during the month of November with randomly selected Studio J print orders! This “golden ticket” is redeemable for one of Close To My Heart’s new D-ring albums* loaded with 10 Top Load Memory Protectors™.

For a fourth way to win, simply create new, gorgeous layouts in Studio J, select your favorites, and then post pictures of them on Close To My Heart’s Facebook page using the hashtag #ctmhlucky5. After November 30, five lucky winners will be selected from the entries based on their artistry and creativity and each of these winners will receive their own D-ring album loaded with 10 Top Load Memory Protectors!

Fifth:  There is one last way to win: take your new Studio J artwork and post a picture of it on Instagram using the hashtag #ctmhlucky5. Just as it is with Facebook, after November 30, five lucky winners will be selected from the entries to receive their own D-ring album loaded with 10 Top Load Memory Protectors!

And to make things even more exciting, starting November 1, five brand new kits from the Annual Inspirations idea book will be made available in Studio J, so you can create new artwork using the latest papers and embellishments from Close To My Heart. With so many ways to win, five may be your new lucky number! Log in to Studio J and start creating today.
