Celebrating Success with Kimberly

Have I mentioned lately how much I love my job? This past weekend I flew to Denver, CO to share the weekend and celebrate with team member, Kimberly, who recently promoted to Director. I spent the weekend with Kimberly and about 20 of her team members. We created, laughed, ate, chatted, ate some more, and shared our love of Close To My Heart. I taught a creative class (see below) and a business class to everyone there.  I also spent some time honoring Kimberly and her accomplishments with CTMH.  It is SO FULFILLING to watch a team member set goals and achieve them in her CTMH business.

Here is a photo of the gift and card I gave Kimberly. I'm embarrassed that I forgot to take a photo of what was inside. It was a silver bracelet with a heart charm. The charm had "Director" engraved on one side and the date Kimberly promoted to Director on the other.

For the creative class, I taught a little bit about using our alcohol markers (made by Shin Han). They are fabulous markers and we made a 10 card set using them and one of my favorite new stamp sets, Flowers for Mom.  Here is a photo of the card (we made 10) and the chart I made to show how to color with the markers on these flowers:

We had TONS of fun playing and learning together!

Look like fun?  Join my team!  Join the fun! This month is the BEST MONTH EVER to join because of the wonderful free totes special. You can learn all about that special here.

Party On, Dude!

What a wonderful day last Friday was.  Where do I even begin?  I guess by telling you first how it all came about.

Last year, Close To My Heart ran a contest for teams.  It included qualifications for team sales, title retention, recruiting, and more. It also included requirements for the team leader (that would be me) that covered those same areas.  My team stepped up!  Not only did we meet the requirements, we exceeded them!  The prize for this was a wonderful team meeting. Close To My Heart would travel to your location, provide a pertinent business training class and and an even more fun hands-on creative class.  All supplies were provided by them.  My team was one of 20 teams that won! YOU GO, Pacemakers (I chose that name for my team many years ago because we definitely keep "The Heart" pumpin'!). Interested in joining my team?  Click here.

I decided that even though the Close To My Heart corporate led portion was 3  hours in the evening,  I would find a nice venue that we could have for the entire day.  I knew I would probably have some team members flying in so I wanted a venue not far from the Salt Lake airport.  It also had to accommodate about 75 people with space to scrap and papercraft.  It needed to be close to a wide variety eating establishments that were in walking distance as well.  I found the perfect place!  Many thanks to The Embassy Suites hotel in West Valley City, UT. They were gracious hosts to my team and me.  And, on top of all of that... ELTON JOHN was staying in the hotel while we were there.  Although we didn't get to see Sir Elton himself, we did get to see his bus, chat with his team, and even take a few pics!

Since Autumn is in the air, and since now is the time to start crafting for Halloween, I decided to go with kind of a Halloween decor. My daughter and I made cute Halloween Treat Bags for each attendee, which we placed at each person's seat

Want to make these cute and inexpensive treat bags? Click here to order the kit.  If you want the stamp set I used for the circular tags ( which fits perfectly on the circles in the kit) , click here.

Each table had a trio of orange, purple and green balloons in the middle, and each spot had a purple or green sack waiting there to use as their trash can as they scrapped throughout the day.  Most of the day was an open crop, but I threw in a few business and creative classes here and there.  Everyone had a blast.

We even had a fun photo area with props set up for participants to take fun photos at with their friends.

At 6:30 pm the CTMH portion of the day began and it did NOT disappoint!  Thank you to the great company I am part of for their generosity and kindness. I love being representing a company with real HEART!  We learned a lot about the strategies behind workshop planning as well as creating two beautiful 12" x 12" layouts. CTMH provided all of the supplies, including the stamp sets that each participant got to keep!

We had a blast!  Between setting up, the all-day crop, the classes and the Close To My Heart portion of the day, we were partying from 8:30 am to 10:30 pm. I had team members from Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, Nevada, Oklahoma and Minnesota attend!  I love my team!
