Christmas Gift Tag

It is time to start thinking about Christmas cards, gift tags and the like.  I feel like about October 1, time warps, and the holidays are upon us before we blink an eye.  I have been having fun doing a little preparing this month.  The gift bag came from JoAnn's in a pack of 12 for $5.  Not too shabby. A lot of people feel the need to decorate the bag, which is cute, but I kind of like that minimalist look of a kraft bag with some cute tissue and a darling tag.

To create this tag, I used the October Stamp of the Month (Yuletide Joy) and did some white embossing on reds and blacks to create a bold, clean look. All of the products I used are listed, complete with photos and links for your convenence, at the very end of this post.

This awesome stamp set is only available in October, and is yours for only $5 ($12.95 savings) with every $50 you order. Order $100, get 2...and so on. When ordering on my website, you'll be prompted to add your $5 set(s) before checking out. Very convenient!

Holiday Gift Guide Artwork Blog Hop - Christmas Projects

Welcome to our Holiday Gift Guide Blog Hop! We are thrilled to introduce you to the BRAND NEW products from our Close To my Heart Holiday Gift Guide, available October 15-December 31 (or while supplies last). I am very honored to have been invited to be part of this hop because as you'll see as you hop from one blog to another, this little hop is full of great artists!  If you have come here from the fabulous Brenda Rose's Blog (I'm also VERY proud to say that she is one of my downline), you are on the right path! The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way all around. If you get lost along the way, you'll find the complete list of participating consultants here.

It's super simple to hop along with us. Just click on the link at the end of each blog post to move to the next one.

Here we go....

For my projects, I decided to make a set of items that use the Christmas tree from the cute "Trim the Tree" (only $6.95) stamp set. I also love that we have coordinating Sparkle Holiday Shapes that add the perfect extra bit of sparkle to your projects. I chose to create a border with the tree by alternating it in a line right side  up, then upside down.  I did that with my Slate Stamp Pad and then added one tree in a pop of color (either Ruby or Juniper).  I also created the background paper on these projects by using the "Holiday Cheer" stamp from the Season's Tweetings Gift Bag Kit (this kit includes the stamp set, 6 fabric gift bags and 9 die cut tags for only $14.95!). All of the stars on the trees were stamped with Honey ink. I have included complete supply lists for each of the projects following the photos, including links right to the products on my website for your convenience.

You can purchase any of these projects on my website.  You can also view the Holiday Gift Guide page by delicious page here.  Don't forget that for every $100 order (from the Gift Guide, the current Autumn/Winter 2013 Idea Book, or a combination of the two), you get to choose one of the products in the gift guide with a star next to it FREE! Cool beans!

Ruby Tree Card (5 1/2" x 4 1/4")

Juniper Tree Card (4 1/4" x 5 1/2"):

12" x 12" One Page Layout:  Sour Cream Sugar Cookies (this will go in a family recipe scrapbook I've been working on.  I've even included a detail close-up shot of the recipe for the cookies and frosting for you to use yourselves!):

Baby Gift Tags with Close To My Heart's January Stamp of the Month and NEW BABIES!

They're here!  They're here! They're here!  The twins are officially HERE!

Yesterday was a miraculous day and I was so honored to be there with Kori and Rick.  Livvi Maren (on the left) entered the world at 1:16 pm and weighed in at 6 lbs. 3 oz. and was 19" long.  Street Frederick (on the right) followed 9 minutes later at 1:25 pm, weighed 6 lbs. 8 oz. and was 19 1/2" long.

Excuse the blurry photo.  Grandma Karen (that would be me) brought all her camera stuff and forgot her camera card.  I didn't just leave it at Kori and Rick's house...I left it on my desk in Utah. UGH! Thankfully my daughter was trained well (even though her mother is forgetful) and had everything needed in her camera bag and we got some beautiful pictures. I will share those when they are home from the hospital and I have access to those photos. This one will have to suffice in the meantime. It's pretty sad because I had to take it with my cell phone.  I think you can still tell how beautiful the babies are.  I'm in love!

You should have seen sweet little Daci as she met them for the first time. Precious! She colored them each a picture and couldn't wait to give them to her brand new brother and sister.  Her mommy and daddy presented her with a beautiful little necklace that had two charms on it; one said "Daci" and the other said "Big Sister."  She felt so special.

I made these little gift tags to go on the outfits I bought Livvi and Street with the wonderful January Stamp of the Month. I have had so much fun playing with this set.

Don't forget that special and the other two this month.  Just click on these links for more information about each. There are only 11 more days until these specials are history. Also, be sure to check out my last post about the brand new clearance items that have just been added to my website as well.

1. January Stamp of the Month
2.  Rock the Block

3.  A Perfect 10
