Wedding Guest Sign In Book You Can Make Yourself
I gotta admit, I was pretty excited when Close To My Heart asked me to come shoot a quick video about the wedding sign in books I've made for my kids. I hope you'll enjoy it!

Wedding Sign In Book for Dawson and Paige
Something I have done for each of my children (and even some friends, nieces and nephews) is create a 12" x 12" scrapbook for their wedding sign in book. With our son, Dawson and his beautiful fiance, Paige getting married this weekend, I created one for them too! Thanks to our daughter, Kori for helping make it with me. We had tons of fun mother/daughter time as we created!
A few things to note:
- You will notice there is a lot of white space on each layout. That's for signing names and writing messages. It really is beautiful with all of the writing added!
- The layouts in this book are very similar to each other. Kori and I decided to keep kind of one theme going throughout the album and just changing colors here and there. We went with dovetailed end banners, lots of fun color, flowers, and a few sequins here and there. It's pretty simple, but that's what we wanted!
- The title page and the closing pages are not for signing. They just open and close the book nicely.
- I have had people ask me how we have people sign the pages (since they are in a 12" x 12" album in protectors). Here's what we do: we put someone in charge of the book. It's their job to watch the book that night. We put one to two layouts out at a time for people to sign. When those are filled, my "book person" puts those back in the book and then puts a few more out. By the time the reception is done, the pages are full of beautiful signatures and wishes to the bride and groom! It's an amazing keepsake forever.

Wedding Sign In Book for Kira and Maihi
![]() |
Opening page of Kira and Maihi's Wedding Sign-In Book |
Daysha's sister, Kira is getting married in less than 2 weeks, and she and her fiance', Maihi asked me to create their wedding sign in book. I was happy to comply! How could this book be less than fabulous when the photos I had of these 2 beautiful people were so stunning?
I have kind of started a tradition with these books. I have done them for each of my children as they have gotten married, for several of my nieces and nephews for their weddings, and for three of Daysha's sisters as well (just one more to go in that family!).
The opening and closing pages are left unsigned. All of the 2-page layouts are for signing when the guests arrive. It's so much fun to see all of that blank space get filled up with love! In the past, several people have asked me how it all works, so I'll explain. As with most weddings, there is a table with a sign-in book as you enter. Instead of writing your name on a line in a book, you get to write a message and sign it on the pages of this book. We take two 2-page layouts out of the protectors in the book at a time and lay them on the table. When those pages fill up, we slide them back in their protectors in the book and get out the next 2 layouts, and so on. By the end of the event, the book is full of love and is a perfect keepsake for the bride and groom.
Kira's colors are black, white, pink and gold. She's going for kind of an Audrey Hepburn feel at her wedding and this theme was so much fun to work with!
One of my favorite things I did in this book was using the "Beautiful You" Picture My Life Cards and cutting them up! I used them as banners, accents, and even just as is. Cool Beans!
I've included a list of all of the products I used at the end of this post, complete with photos and links for your convenience. You can order all of these products on my website.

Matt and Shanda's Wedding Sign In Book
Our daughter-in-law, Daysha's sister, Shanda is got married on Thursday. She asked me to make her sign in book and so I did (along with a lot of help from my darling daughter, Kori). We had fun working with her colors; shades of coral, oranges, neutral browns and gold, with just a hint of Wintery blue.
I'm apologizing in advance for the quality of the photos. We finished the book and were ready to put it together in the album when I realized I hadn't photoed the pages. I quickly snapped a pic of each page and layout with my phone. This is the best I could get. Hopefully you get the idea, even from poor quality photos.
I have now made about 10 of these books for people I love when they get married. The opening and closing pages are left unsigned. All of the 2-page layouts are for signing when the guests arrive. It's so much fun to see all of that blank space get filled up with love! In the past, several people have asked me how it all works, so I'll explain. Here's a photo of their book on their sign in table being filled with thoughts from friends and family:
Congratulations, Matt and Shanda! I wish you an eternity of happiness! Here are all of the layouts as they looked before signatures:
