Punkin' picks a Pumpkin

My little granddaughter, Daci got her first pumpkin this week. My parents (shown in the top photo in the layout) invited her to pick a pumpkin out of their garden for Halloween, so with the help of her mom (bottom photo on layout) she did. She was pretty excited about the new toy!

I got the idea for the page from the sketch at Pagemaps for their contest which is due today (nothing like waiting until the last minute!).

Feel free to click on any photo to see it larger.

Our Summer Sweetheart

This is my 2nd post today. Be sure to check out the first.

I made this layout in response to a challenge from Pagemaps. I know you will be surprised (NOT!) that I chose to feature my little granddaughter, Daci. The theme was summer and this is what I came up with. Her cute skirt, which was made for her by her other grandma (talented seamstress and quilter) was my color inspiration. Because of the many patterns and colors in her little skirt, I chose paper from several different paper packs to achieve the look I wanted. Have you ever thought to do this? Just because something comes in a kit or package doesn't mean it can only be used with those things. Get creative! Try combining colors and patterns from several kits and you might be surprised what you come up with!

By the way, don't ya just LOVE that little tongue. More times than not it pokes out when she is especially happy.

A Deep Fryer?

Yep, no kidding. My son, Tannon asked for a deep fryer for his 18th birthday a few weeks ago. He is the funniest kid. He loves to play basketball and football, he loves Harry Potter and the Twilight series, he loves to cook, he loves to shop with me, loves to play "Halo" with the guys, he has the goofiest sense of humor, and he can have the tenderest heart (you can click on the layout to see it larger). Tannon has been frying everything in sight ever since his birthday.

This layout was made using the Pagemaps sketch from July 3, 2009.
