Southern Utah University Spring Football Game

Dan and I, and my mom and dad all drove down for the game.  Our niece, Tiana joined us too.  Tannon's wife, Brookley is missing from the photo. She had to work. Darn!

We take a break from our regularly artistic content to share some photos I'm really excited to get busy scrapping. Don't worry! I'll share them when I get it done.

April 15 was the Southern Utah University Spring Football Game.  If you haven't been following my blog for long, you might not know that SUU football is a Pedersen tradition. My hubby was scholarshipped to play football back in the mid-80's at SUU. Since then, all 3 of our boys have followed in his footsteps.  People tell me all the time how amazing it is that all of our boys have been talented enough to play college football. I think it's not so amazing when football is life in your home. 😂 Our oldest son, Easton finished his career at SUU a few years ago at number 7 on the all-time receiving list.  No too shabby. I miss watching him play!  Tannon and Dawson have continued the legacy.  Proud mom? Yep!

Dawson and Paige. This was Paige's first time as a football wife. She said to me, "If I get this nervous in a Spring Game, I can't even imagine what I'm going to be like in the regular season!"  I told her to trust me. I've felt her pain for decades as a football wife then football momma!

Tannon plays safety.  He came to SUU as a QB, and spent his first several years playing QB. Last year he severely injured his arm, and his throwing motion was pretty much destroyed. The defensive coordinator asked him to move to safety. We really thought his time on the collegiate football field was over.  I mean, he hadn't played defense since 6th grade. How could he possibly play defense on a collegiate level?  True to Tannon form, he worked hard, learned the position, and his athleticism kicked in. He got a lot of playing time at safety last year and we expect the same again this fall (his senior season). Dawson will be a red shirt freshman this year, playing tight end.  He really wanted to shine in Spring football and make a mark heading into Fall. I think he succeeded!

Both of my 'little boys" played great.  And, when you have one kid playing offense and the other playing defense, it's inevitable they will battle it out in the Spring Game.

Tannon and Dawson: brother against brother

Here are a few other great shots.  I love the team photographer, Anita! She always gets such great shots of my boys.

In the Pedersen house, football time is family time.  I wish all of our family could have joined us for the Spring Game, but we look forward to an upcoming Fall, full of football, fun and all of the family cheering these two on!

Life is GOOD!

This past week has been a whirlwind!  It began a week ago when my friend, Amy flew in to spend a few days with me before we headed to the Close To My Heart Team Builders event in Salt Lake City.  We spent a few days just enjoying each other, then headed to Team Builders.  We spent the next 3 days at Team Builders. I returned home on Saturday evening, spent Sunday as a tour guide with my hubby for the brand new City Center temple, then had a brand new, straight from heaven grandbaby on Monday, and our twin grand'babies' turned 4 on Tuesday.

I hope you'll indulge me as I share a few of those amazing experiences with you...

Team Builders: I told you a little bit about this last week as I was preparing to go.  You can read about it here.  I love my team and enjoyed learning great leadership principles, business practices, and even took a gorgeous letting class.  Here are a few photos from Team Builders.  I'd love to have YOU join my team.  It's easy, peasy. Just click here.

I have been very blessed with a team of hundreds that are all so very awesome.  These two ladies are my two Directors, Kimberly and Brenda and they are over the top amazing.
After classes ended on Thursday evening, several of us went to listen to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir rehearse.  Fabulous!

The gorgeous view from our hotel room at the City Creek Marriott
Close To My Heart brought in Waffle Love for an afternoon snack on Saturday.  It was delish. Here I am with my buddies (and roomies), Michelle, Amy and Lisa.
After festivities ended on Saturday, several of us made the trek to Provo to attend the new Provo City Center Temple open house.

I got home late Saturday night, and then Sunday morning Dan the Man and I were up bright and early. We have the privilege of being tour guides for young women on Sundays for the next 2 months at the new Provo City Center Temple.  I snapped this gorgeous shot as we were walking in.

Monday was a BIG day for our family. We welcomed grandchild #6 to the world. Easton and Daysha added Baylor Aloa Pedersen to the family at 7 pm. She weighed 6 lbs. 14 oz. and was 19.5" long. She is a beauty!  We are smitten!

Meeting Baylor for the first time

Sage is already in love with her baby sister.

When I saw Baylor, I was immediately reminded of her daddy as a newborn.  Easton's pictures are top left and bottom right.  Baylor is top right and bottom left. Don't you agree they are almost twinners?
Speaking of twins...ours turned 4 on Tuesday.  Livvi and Street make me smile every day. Happy birthday, sweet grandkiddos!
Happy birthday, Street and Livvi!

Check back here on Friday for another card that will be available on my February 4-5 Card Buffets!

All Occasion Stamp of the Month Card + Jump On It July + Family Reunion

July is such a busy month!  It's full of tons of family fun.  Not only was there Independence Day on July 4 to celebrate, but in Utah we also celebrate July 24. We call it Pioneer Day and it's a state holiday. It is the day in 1847 when the Mormon pioneers entered the Salt Lake Valley and Brigham Young declared, "This is the place!"  Our July 24th this year was celebrated at a family reunion that we hosted for my dad's side of the family (the Overstreets..check out a photo collage at the end of this post). It was so WONDERFUL to spend three days with aunts and uncles and cousins that I haven't seen in years, as well as time with my own parents, sisters and their families, and my own kiddos and their families (except Tannon and Brookley, who were unable to come. We missed them!)!  In fact, LIFE IS WONDERFUL!  I love that the July Stamp of the Month celebrates that!

Happy Father's Day!

I have been blessed with so many wonderful men in my life!  Today, Father's Day, I'd like to pay tribute to three of them.

1. My own daddy:  LeRoy Overstreet, I love you! You have taught me so much.  The biggest thing I learned from you is to never say, "can't."  As a young girl, I remember thinking it was so dumb that every time I said, "can't," you would correct me.  Now, I am so very grateful.  You taught me whenever you believe in  yourself and are willing to put in the blood, sweat and tears, you can accomplish just about anything. Thanks for the countless hours in the back yard teaching me to pitch a softball, at the church gym helping me with layups, going on jogs with me (I'll never forget a run we took once when I was in 9th grade and while running you told me why I had the most amazing mother in the world) and always letting me tag along with you anywhere you went (to watch you coach or ref a ballgame, or just to run to the grocery store).  Thank you for being a strong example of living the gospel. I love you! I couldn't have had a better Dad!

2.  My hubby: Dan-the-Man, you are the love of my life.  I love so many things about you that I could sit and list them forever.  But, I think because it's Father's Day, I'll focus on that.  From the moment you held Kori in your arms and I watched tears slide down your cheeks, I knew you were meant to be a daddy. You have always put our family first. You have coached our boys, sat through thousands of Nutcracker performances to support your daughter, laughed with and disciplined our children, and have set an example of being a worthy priesthood holder.  You taught our children to serve missions, the importance of temple marriage, and that having a tender heart make a man more of a man, and that having a sense of humor can get you through just about anything.  Watching you with our children made me love you even more.  Now, add to that watching you with our grandchildren. I love watching the tender way you hold a newborn, the sparkle in your eye when you tease a toddler, and listening as you let the grandkids choose which animal they want for their hunting bedtime stories.  Thank you for being a hard-working, heroic husband, a fantastic father, and a gallant grandfather.

3.  My father-in-law:  You are a man of faith, knowledge and dedication.  Thank you for the way you raised  the man I chose to spend eternity with. You have loved me unconditionally and welcomed me into your family from day one.  You are the "baby whisperer." I'll never forget the three months we stayed with you guys when Kori was a newborn. I was a first-time mother and it stressed me out so much when she would cry and I couldn't make her stop.  At these times, you would gently take her from me, sit down in your chair, rock her and have her quiet and asleep in seconds.  Your grandkids and great grandkids  love you!  They love spending time with you in your garden, and the pumpkins you grow for them. They love going on tractor rides.  You have taught me so much about the gospel and I look so forward to our monthly study sessions.

Happy Birthday, Tannon!

Happy birthday to this ball of energy. When he was a little guy (from newborn to 4 years old), he had some serious asthma issues and was a pretty low-key, quiet baby.  He has sure made up for it ever since. He is anything but low-key and quiet now. He is a born leader, a ball of energy, a man of determination and confidence.  Tannon, on this your 24th birthday, I thought I'd list 24 reasons I love you!

1.  You make me laugh.
2.  You don't get bothered. You let almost everything roll off your back.
3.  You find the good in almost everyone.
4.  You never assume bad intentions. You always assume the best.
5.  You are faithful...always attend church, pray and read your scriptures.
6.  You have never made excuses.
7.  You give your best to all that you do.
8.  No matter what anyone says to tear you down, you always believe in yourself.
9.  You have big goals and aren't afraid to share them.
10.  You know how to have fun.
11.  You are a hard worker and gain satisfaction in a job well done.
12.  You demand excellence of yourself.
13.  You are happy almost all the time.
14.  You can laugh at almost everything.
15.  You are athletic and use this gift.
16.  When you find something you love, you are consumed by it.
17.  You always thank me for making dinner. You did this even as a little boy.
18.  You love to decorate and cook.
19.  You are clean and organized.
20.  You are GQ.
21.  You have a tender spot in your heart for those with Down's Syndrome or other disabilities (remember Danny?).
