August Stamp of the Month and Scrapbook Sale Reminder

On to August Stamp of the Month information: As you know, with a new month comes a new CTMH Stamp of the Month. This month's (Something Splendid - D1424) is gorgeous and one that makes me happy just looking at it. The large flower (solid and outline images) is gorgeous and very timely. As I drive along the road I see the big wild sunflowers that look just like this everywhere. Although I didn't choose to use the traditional wild sunflower colors of golden yellow and brown on my card, you sure could!

The image you see of the stamp set is of the carrier sheet the stamps come on. The actual size of that sheet is 6" x 6". This card features the large flower stamped tone-on-tone as a background image. I used the smaller flower image on the little circle accent. It's a simple card, but I kinda like it!

Can you tell that I have officially dubbed June "Cherry-O Month"? Between the Cherry-O Recipe Box Workshop on June 23 and the June Play Group pages, Cherry-O seems to have found it's niche in June. If you are not familiar with my Play Group classes, you can read more about how it all works on the left side of my blog under "Play Group Information."

Cherry-O Recipe Box Workshop

Are you as in love with the Cherry-O line from Close To My Heart as I am? I hope so, because cherries are the "it girl" of the summer.

I decided to combine a few of my loves for this workshop: Cherry-O, papercrafting, and cooking. Who doesn't need a darling recipe box? If you are like me, you have enough well-loved recipes to fill 2 or 3 boxes. Well then, that is why this workshop is so perfect!

This is another of my "double your fun" workshops, which means when you purchase the workshop you will get enough of everything you need to make 2 of what you see in the photo (2 boxes, 2 sets of 16 recipe cards, 2 sets of 4 dividers, 2 greeting cards {in case you want to give either of the boxes as a gift you will have a darling matching card!}). So, you can make 2 and keep them both (which is a great idea if you have tons of recipes like me), or you can make one for yourself and give the other as a gift, or you can split the workshop with a friend and you'll each get one. WOO HOO! By the way, thanks to my friends, Kim Lohberg and Nona Davenport for some of the inspiration for this workshop design.

More Splendor from Close To My Heart

Yesterday I shared a photo of a beautiful layout created with the brand new (being released on May 1) Splendor Kit. Did I wet your whistle for some new products a little? I hope so!

I'm so excited for Saturday when you can actually see the new Close To My Heart Summer 2010 Idea Book on my blog and look inside and see the Splendor kit, as well as the new Cherry-O kit (click here and here to see some artwork that I've already shown you with that kit), and 2 other new kits: Passages and Zippidee.

I spent the day designing my Play Group scrapbook classes for July in which we will be using the Zippidee Kit. The Zippidee collection is perfect for Disneyland photos. I have the best job in the world! I can't wait to show you the June (made with Cherry-O) and July Play Group projects soon.

In the meantime, I thought I'd share some more Splendor artwork today. Have you noticed that so much of the papercrafting artwork you are seeing in magazines and on many scrapbooking sites are featuring clouds? Well, Splendor brings you some nice, fluffy, white ones! The colors in this summery kit are Goldrush, Heavenly Blue, Moonstruck and Topiary. It makes me want to pack a picnic and go to the park!

Have you noticed that cherries are all the rage in scrapbooking products, papers, linens, and even clothing lately?
