Dawson and Paige are Engaged!

Over the weekend, our youngest (and only unmarried) child Dawson got engaged to his beautiful girlfriend  (now fiance'), Paige. Where did the time go?  He was just born yesterday, right?

It was absolutely beautiful!  They had scheduled to have photos taken together on Saturday, September 17 and he felt it would be the perfect time to officially propose.  After all, his football number is 17 and it was the 17th. They have also set their wedding date for December 17.  #17 is a big deal in their lives.  He had me come down and help him set everything up earlier in the day so that when they got to the spot where they had chosen to have their photos taken, it would be there waiting. On top of that, having a photographer already there to take the pictures (and she secretly brought a videographer with her) was the perfect way to capture the special moment forever.

Dawson decided he wanted to write down 17 reasons he loves her, arrange 17 rocks into the #17, and tie a reason to each rock. That's where I came in. He sent me the reasons and then I made them into cute tags. I went down and helped him tie them to the rocks and set everything up before the photos.  He also had a little necklace made that he tied with the tag to rock #17 that had a #17 charm on it. As they read each tag, we cut them off the rock and put them on a jump ring so that she could keep them forever.

She had absolutely NO IDEA what was coming and it was awesome. She was shaking like a leaf for an  hour.  Both Paige's mom and I were there to "help with the pictures," so we got to see the whole thing.  BEST. DAY. EVER.

Here is the video. Grab a box of kleenex. You might need it.

Wedding Sign In Book for Kira and Maihi

Opening page of Kira and Maihi's Wedding Sign-In Book

Daysha's sister, Kira is getting married in less than 2 weeks, and she and her fiance', Maihi asked me to create their wedding sign in book. I was happy to comply!  How could this book be less than fabulous when the photos I had of these 2 beautiful people were so stunning?

I have kind of started a tradition with these books. I have done them for each of my children as they have gotten married, for several of my nieces and nephews for their weddings, and for three of Daysha's sisters as well (just one more to go in that family!).

The opening and closing pages are left unsigned.  All of the 2-page layouts are for signing when the guests arrive.  It's so much fun to see all of that blank space get filled up with love!  In the past, several people have asked me how it all works, so I'll explain.  As with most weddings, there is a table with a sign-in book as you enter. Instead of writing your name on a line in a book, you get to write a message and sign it on the pages of this book. We take two 2-page layouts out of the protectors in the book at a time and lay them on the table. When those pages fill up, we slide them back in their protectors in the book and get out the next 2 layouts, and so on.  By the end of the event, the book is full of love and is a perfect keepsake for the bride and groom.

Kira's colors are black, white, pink and gold. She's going for kind of an Audrey Hepburn feel at her wedding and this theme was so much fun to work with!

One of my favorite things I did in this book was using the "Beautiful You" Picture My Life Cards and cutting them up! I used them as banners, accents, and even just as is.  Cool Beans!

I've included a list of all of the products I used at the end of this post, complete with photos and links for your convenience. You can order all of these products on my website.

Wedding Sign In Album for Heather and Xavier

Title Page

Daysha's sister, Heather and her fiance, X are getting married in about a week and a half. Aren't they a beautiful couple?  They asked me to do the sign in book and I knew I had to get busy. Like seriously busy. Like get jiggy wit' it! I leave for Anaheim, CA (Disneyland) for the Close To My Heart annual convention on Monday morning and get back 2 days before the wedding. I had about  24 hour period of time to get this little puppy put together. Operation HURRY!  Well, thanks to Kori's help, I did it! Thanks, Bug!  YAY!  Done!  And, I am pretty happy with how it turned out. I hope they will be too.

For those of you who are wondering what the heck this is for, this is in the place of a traditional guest book. Instead of signing on a little line in a boring old guest book, everyone signs on the pages of this book. It really turns into a beautiful keepsake! As you can see there is a lot of white space. That's where everyone signs.
