It's a BOY!
When I was a young mom having my family, no one thought to do things like parties to reveal the gender of a baby. I LOVE that they do now! Our daughter, Kori and her hubby, Rick are expecting their 4th baby in June. They found out the gender on Tuesday and had a party that night for close family to reveal the secret.
How did they do it? SO MUCH FUN! Kori went to the store and bought silly string in the color (pink or blue) that would give us all the answer. She was going to cover the cans with paper so we couldn't see the color ahead of time but didn't even have to. I guess the brand of silly string she bought could only be told the color by the cap (which makes me think that just anyone could go to the store and switch the caps for a prank...but I digress). She just hid the caps and had cans of silly string out on the counter. She had an ultrasound pic of the baby with pink and blue balloons, and pink and blue candy, set up and a bar of horderves for all of us to munch on.
When everyone had arrived they had us all guess what we thought and then gave out the cans of silly string and the spraying commenced! It was BLUE! That rounds their family out with 2 girls munchkins and 2 boy munchkins. Perfect!
We are so excited for our 5th little grandchild.

Just call or email me to order them (801.360.9896, pedermom@aol.com). I don't do this very often, so take advantage of it while you can!

Baby Card for Mojo Monday and Close To My Heart New Products Installment #3
Be sure to check out yesterday's post and enter to win a brand new Designed Decor Frame Kit ($43.85 value).
Ready for some more new products? I'd love to share the new paper packs that made their debut on August 1 in the brand new Autumn/Winter Idea Book. There are 6 of them (Baby Cakes, Laughing Lola, ProPlayer, Huntington, Sarita and Frosted) and they are all delicious. I've already stocked up with at least one of each! As you read about each pack, notice that I've provided links to the products I'm referring to on my website for your convenience.
1. Baby Cakes Paper Pack: The card you see at the top of this post was made with the Baby Cakes papers. I love that they can work for baby items, but also are versatile enough for so many other things. The trendy greys, yellows, oranges and browns in this kit make it perfect for boys pages, girl pages, Autumn pages, family photos and so much more than baby pages and projects. And, with all of the matching accent stickers and bling you can get to go along with it, it's a must have!
I used the Baby Cakes papers to create this card inspired by this week's Mojo Monday sketch.
Here's a close up of the card. The products used list is at the very bottom of this post.
Here is some more artwork made with Baby Cakes by the fabulous Art Department at Close To My Heart:
2. Laughing Lola Paper Pack: This paper pack is bright, fun, bold and fashionable! I recently used it to complete this layout (based on one done by the CTMH Art Department) of our dancing daughter-in-law, Daysha. We will actually be making this layout, along with 2 more at my September Play Group Scrappin' Classes. Be watching in a week or two for the announcement of this kit and how to purchase it then. Anyway, CTMH has also provided all kinds of fun accent options that match this paper packet.
This beautiful home decor item was created using Laughing Lola by the Art Department:
3. ProPlayer Paper Pack: I love this pack! The blues, greys, reds and blacks combine for such a masculine feel. The matching accents are just perfect too! Whether you want to use this packet theme specific for "gaming" photos, or whether you just want to include some photos of your boy(s), sports photos, family photos, or even swimming photos (the possibilities are endless!) you'll love the way they are complemented by these papers! I can't wait to scrapbook some of my boys' sports photos on this paper. The matching accents are killer too!

How cute is this new Flip Stand Album? Love it too! |
4. Huntington Paper Pack: Don't you feel warm just looking at it? It's full of warm, cozy, Autumn feeling colors and combines that with elegance. In fact, I almost want to redecorate my home to match. Looking at these papers makes me feel like I'm all snuggled up in a warm family room by the fireplace. Just gorgeous. The matching accents perfectly complement the elegantly warm papers as well.

5. Sarita Paper Pack: Blues, golds, oranges and geometric prints! Perfection. These papers, along with their matching accents are so versatile, they really can be used for ANYTHING!

Baby Cards for Mojo Monday
I thought I'd play along this week with Mojo Monday! I always enjoy the weeks when they give a circular card and a square card option. I love circle cards and quite often make them and it's always fun to get a new sketch idea. I decided to do both the circle and square since I actually need a boy baby card and a girl baby card this week.
Before we get too far into this post, I'd like to quickly remind you that today is the last day of July, which means today is the last day to take advantage of the Close To My Heart July specials. Click here to read about them.
Here are the Mojo Monday sketches this week that I based my cards on:
Below you'll see each card alone, along with a detail shot of each. Following those photos I'll include a complete supply list for each card.

Baby Gift Tags with Close To My Heart's January Stamp of the Month and NEW BABIES!
They're here! They're here! They're here! The twins are officially HERE!
Yesterday was a miraculous day and I was so honored to be there with Kori and Rick. Livvi Maren (on the left) entered the world at 1:16 pm and weighed in at 6 lbs. 3 oz. and was 19" long. Street Frederick (on the right) followed 9 minutes later at 1:25 pm, weighed 6 lbs. 8 oz. and was 19 1/2" long.
Excuse the blurry photo. Grandma Karen (that would be me) brought all her camera stuff and forgot her camera card. I didn't just leave it at Kori and Rick's house...I left it on my desk in Utah. UGH! Thankfully my daughter was trained well (even though her mother is forgetful) and had everything needed in her camera bag and we got some beautiful pictures. I will share those when they are home from the hospital and I have access to those photos. This one will have to suffice in the meantime. It's pretty sad because I had to take it with my cell phone. I think you can still tell how beautiful the babies are. I'm in love!
You should have seen sweet little Daci as she met them for the first time. Precious! She colored them each a picture and couldn't wait to give them to her brand new brother and sister. Her mommy and daddy presented her with a beautiful little necklace that had two charms on it; one said "Daci" and the other said "Big Sister." She felt so special.
I made these little gift tags to go on the outfits I bought Livvi and Street with the wonderful January Stamp of the Month. I have had so much fun playing with this set.
Don't forget that special and the other two this month. Just click on these links for more information about each. There are only 11 more days until these specials are history. Also, be sure to check out my last post about the brand new clearance items that have just been added to my website as well.
