Coloring with Paper and Four Cards

3.5" x  5.5" card by Karen Pedersen

Today I'll be sharing an idea...maybe one that hasn't occurred to you before. Do you have lined stamps but don't really have the coloring mediums that you want to use? You know, no water color pencils, alcohol markers, chalks, etc.  Do you have tons of scraps of patterned and solid papers?  Well, then you have a solution! The cards I am sharing today use nothing more than a black stamp pad and papers to "color" the flowers.    All of the products I have used on both cards I am sharing today can be ordered on my website.  I have provided links to the specific products for your convenience at the end of this post.

Special note before we move on:  Don't forget that there are 2 great specials this month (FREE scrapbooking totes and a darling Stamp of the Month).  You can see both specials here.  March is almost over so don't miss them.

Now back to our regularly schedule post...

I used the Mojo Monday sketch for this week as the inspiration for the card at the top of this post.  Here's a close up of the card as well.  I'll be sharing several more cards today too using this same technique. BONUS!

Here is one more example of a card made with this stamp set that I "colored" the flowers with paper.  Just stamp your lined stamp directly onto the patterned or solid paper, then cut out.  Simple! You can get a little more complicated if you want.  I could have stamped this flower 5 times on 5 different pieces of paper and cut out a petal from each so that each petal was its own color, but why would I do that when this is so cute?  I added a cute little Flamingo or Aqua Dot to the center of each flower for some fun interest and texture.

Here's another card made with the same stamp set, papers and technique.

And a close up...

And a couple more really simple (but still pretty) ones:

One of the coolest things about this technique is that you need very few stamp pads or coloring mediums. You just need paper, your stamps, a black stamp pad, and a few accessories if you'd like. You can see a list of the products I chose below.
