One-Page Travel Layout with Wanderful and Creative Scrappers

This photo of Kori and I from our trip to Europe in 2008 is one of my favorites. I have scrapped it more than once!  Close To My Heart just came out with an AWESOME travel themed paper pack with matching accessories called "Wanderful."  The cool thing is that the papers are double-sided so if a travel theme isn't exactly what you are looking for, you can turn them over and use a more versatile pattern. It also comes with matching cardstock. WOO HOO!  Although the matching accessories for Wanderful are WONDERFUL, I chose to use a few assorted accessories from other kits and places (see products used list with links at the end of this post) on this layout.

I used the current sketch from Creative Scrappers.  I also used something I LOVE and I know you will too...FLIP FLAPS! Flip Flaps are a great way to attach photos or other artwork. Just slide them in the pocket and attach the Flip Flap with it's adhesive strip. You can see this in better detail in the  photos below.  I happened to use a 3" x 3" from the small flip flap assortment, in which you get 4 each of 2" × 2", 3" × 3", 3" × 4", and 4" × 4" flip flaps. That package is only $3.95. WHAT A DEAL!  We carry flip flaps in several sizes (including our most popular 4" x 6"). You can check them all out here.

You can shop for Wanderful, Flip Flaps and so much more on my website, 24/7!

Any Day Layout

You may or may not know that our 4th grandbaby, and Easton and Daysha's first baby is due any day.  Today, I decided to use this sketch from Creative Scrappers to make a layout highlighting my impatience. Sorry that the photo turned out so blue. Weird.  It really isn't quite that blue. :)

And, here's the journaling....

All products used are Close To My Heart.

Birthday Layout

Happy Labor Day!

I shared a little bit about my birthday a few days ago, but I finally sat down and made a layout about it today. I was canning salsa all day today and just needed a little creative break. This is what I came up with.

I was inspired by the sketch at Creative Scrappers this week (#172) and the color challenge at Heart 2 Heart Challenges (choose your own favorite color combo). I really liked the sketch on Creative Scrappers, especially because I was only planning on doing a 1-page layout for this project. I am in love, and have been since 8th grade, with pink and green together (remember those preppie days?). I especially love them paired with black and white. Thanks to Heart 2 Heart Challenges (a great CTMH Challenge site!) for helping me choose my color combo for this layout. I used the Close To My Heart colors of Blush, Hollyhock and Pear.

Here's a little close up of the flowers and journaling. You can click on this photo to see it larger and in more detail.

Close To My Heart products used: Black Cardstock, Silhouette Creative Basics Paper Pack (retired), Sophia L2 Paper Pack, Licorice Opaques, Dimensional Elements Numbers (retired), Black Stamp Pad, Round Sponge, Create-a-Shade Pearl Paint, Stardust Glitz Glitter Gel, Corner Rounder, Sanding Kit.

You can order these, and so many other wonderful products on my website...24/7!

Shoot 4 the Stars

Be sure to check out yesterday's post if you haven't yet. It's good stuff!

Today I am excited to share a layout that I did that was featured at Creative Scrappers yesterday. It's Creative Scrappers birthday and to celebrate they have invited several readers to be guest artists. I was one of the lucky ones chosen. I was given an AWESOME sketch created by Katia Adams to work with. I chose to make it into a mirror image two page layout instead of a one page one. I used Tannon and his basketball season and accomplishments as my subject matter. Feel free to click on the photo to see it in more detail. Thank you, Kristine (Creative Scrappers creator) for choosing me!

Fall Beauty

I am so lucky to have a daughter who is as obsessed with taking photos as I am (I taught her well). Because of this, I get LOTS of great photos of my little granddaughter. These are the photos Kori took to commemorate the important occasion of her 8 month birthday. LOVE 'em...especially the one with her tongue poking out. Oh! And the one where she is trying to eat a leaf (everything goes in the mouth). Oh yeah, and the one that she is so excited that her whole face is all scrunched up. OK, I love them all.

I used two different sketches as inspiration for this layout, as well as the Color Me Monday color combo on Jeanette Lynton's blog (Close To My Heart colors: Gold Rush, Desert Sand, Chocolate, and Cocoa). The sketches are from Inspired Blueprints (left side) and Creative Scrappers (right side).

I had fun mixing and matching papers from several different Close To My Heart paper packs. Don't ever think that you can only mix and match what comes in a certain collection.

Close To My Heart products used: Magic Moments Level 2 Paper Pack (X7101B), Twitterpaged Level 2 Paper Pack (X7718B), Caprice Level 2 Paper Pack (X7086B), Goldrush Cardstock (1243), Mini Medley Autumn Garden Collection (Z1119), Journey Journaling Spots (X1409).

Football is Life

I decided to sit down on a quiet Sunday afternoon and scrapbook some photos I took of Dawson a little over a week ago in the Lone Peak Freshman Pre-Season Scrimmage. I was inspired by 2 sketches I saw this week and decided to use them both and do a 2 page layout.

The left page (pg 1) is done using sketch #28 from Inspired Blueprints (released on their blog on 8-16-09).

The right page (pg 2) is based on the Creative Scrappers sketch #66. You can click on any of the photos to see them larger.

Close To My Heart products used: Black Cardstock (1388), Colonial White Cardstock (1386), Bamboo Stamp Pad (Z2103), Dimensional Elements On Target (avail. 9/1, Z1226)

Non-CTMH products used: Patterned paper from Paper Loft, Basic Grey Adhesive Ribbon, Creative Imaginations Football Stickers.

Friends

Post #3 today. I'm on a roll, baby! This layout kills two birds with one stone. What an ugly saying! I'd rather say "kills two flies with one swatter." I'd rather kill flies than birds anyday. OK, I digress. On with the art....

This layout was created using the sketch from Creative Scrappers (#65) and Jeanette Lynton's Color Me Monday combo from this week (Close To My Heart colors: Indian Corn Blue, Tulip, Creme Brulee, Cocoa). What a fun combo, doncha think?
Close To My Heart products used: Shining Star Stamp Set (D1320), Indian Corn Blue Cardstock (1284), Indian Blue Stamp Pad (Z2130), Creme Brulee Cardstock (X5754), Creme Brulee Stamp Pad (Z2167), Cocoa Cardstock
(X5642), Cocoa Stamp Pad (Z2114), Cocoa Marker (Z2314), Tulip Cardstock (X5753), Magic Moments Level 2 Paper Pack (X7101B), Free Spirit Level 2 Paper Pack (X7088B), Free Spirit Level 2 MyStickease (X7088C), On Target Dimensional Elements (avail. 9/1, Z1226), Color Ready Alphabet Oxford (X5749), Round Sponge (Z697).

Darn!

Darn! I applied for the new Design Team over at Creative Scrappers and wasn't chosen. That's OK. I'll try again next time. I'm sure the people who were chosen are so talented and I look forward to seeing their work each week. Congrats to my blogging friend, Jamie Harder for being a returning design team member. Her work ROCKS! Check out her blog here.

This is the layout I created to apply for the position. Even though I wasn't chosen, I have to say that I was really happy with this layout. How could I not be with such cute little subject? I just love the stuffin' out of this grandbaby of mine!
