Wink Layout and Eight Stamp of the Month Ideas

Sometimes when we look at a stamp set like the November Stamp of the Month, all we see is the literal images in the set.  For instance, this set is a fun New Year set with glasses and sentiments to go with it.  You might initially think, "I don't really need a New Year set."  Well, you might be surprised because there are so many other ways to use this set.  This layout is a great example. I used the little starburst backgrounds on some of the red pieces to create a fun pattern, and I used the the word "clink" to create the word "wink" for my layout title.  The lesson is to THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX when looking at a stamp set. There are so many more options than might originally meet the eye.

Here's the set (and 9 ideas of out of the box ways to use it):

  1. the word "cheers" could be just "cheer" (leave off the s) for a cheerleading card or layout
  2. the starburst stamps are great for any background, or for a star for a Christmas card
  3. the party invitation stamp is great for any party
  4. the bubbles are fun for a baby bath layout
  5. turn the glasses over and they are great for a vase for some stamped flowers
  6. the banner flags are great for any project
  7. you could use the martini glass for an hour glass. Just stamp it twice, cut out the large end on one of them and adhere it over the small end on your first image and it looks perfectly like an hour glass
  8. "clink" could be used like I did, as "wink" but it could also be used as "ink" (for a layout about your love of stamping, etc) or as "link" for a layout about family ties, or as "pink" for a layout about your daughter's favorite color, or "mink" for your new coat, or "rink" for a skating layout, or "sink" for a layout about doing dishes  (I want to do a layout about me standing on a chair at the sink at age 5 washing dishes, and my baby sister not ever doing them until she was big enough to stand at the sink herself {oldest child complaints! lol}).
How's that for a list of fun ideas?  See what I mean? Think outside the box!  This set just became much more versatile!

Here are a few more details of the layout:

The best news of all is that this set can be yours (in November only) for only $5 (before shipping and tax) with every $50 you order.  Order $100, get 2...and so on. When ordering on my website, you'll be prompted to add your set(s) before checking out.   "Cheers" to that!

Simply Fundamental Scrapbooking Layout Number One

I used the Simply Fundamental Scrapbooking special kit to create this layout. Easy Peasy! The kit includes a workshop (that I will email you the instructions for once you purchase the special) and all I did was use the cutting guide and instructions to create this layout. The workshop includes everything you need for 5 two-page layouts.  It took me less than 3 hours to cut the papers and put all 5 layouts together! WOO HOO!  I really love how this one turned out!

I'll be sharing one of the layouts, complete with my photos and journaling added, each week in November.  This is the first one.

As a reminder, here's how the special works.  Get one of our My Legacy™ album bundles, available during November only for $71.80 each...and that includes a FREE value package of memory protectors (25 of them, valued at $19.95) AND the FREE workshop cutting guides and instructions!

Wondering what you get in the bundles?  Well, let me tell you (are you holding on to your hat?).  I've also included links to each of the products in the list below so you can click on them and see them up close:

A few things to note:

  • You can order this special on my website.  If you do this, I'll be emailing you the instructions for the workshop.
  • You can order this special directly from me by calling or emailing me (801.360.9896, pedermom@aol.com). I'll email you the workshop instructions after placing your order.
  • You can also order this special from me if you are attending one of my Play Group scrapbooking classes in November at the class.  Again, I'll email you the workshop instructions when I place your order.

Football Layout with September's Hello Life Stamp Sets

I've been meaning to scrapbook Tannon's SUU Spring Red/White Scrimmage since April, when it happened, but I just haven't gotten to it. Today, I pulled out the three exclusive National Stamping Month stamp sets that Close To My Heart created for this month, and decided to use 2 of the 3 on this layout.

As a reminder, these stamp sets are only available this month and are $13.95 each, or $34.95 for the set of 3 (savings of $6.90). You can purchase them here.

There a few fun little details on the layout I wanted to point out for you.  At the end of this post, you'll find a products used list, complete with photos and links for your convenience. I think you'll be really surprised how relatively small the product list is and that it was able to create this fun layout!

1.  I love how a strip of shimmer trim across my title adds just the right amount of pop and sparkle!

2.  I LOVE flip flaps!  I used a 4" x 6" one to create more real estate for photos on this layout.

3.  I used up so much space on the layout with photos, and I didn't want to take up more space with journaling, so instead I used my journaling pen and wrote across the bottom edge of the patterned paper.  I wrote small and it looks awesome...almost like a little stamped accent to the page, yet I was able to fit a lot of journaling!  I also used my pen to add stitches around the layout and around the circle accents I used.

4.   Clustering is big right now, and everyone seems to be doing it with accents, but why not cluster with stamped images? I love how this little cluster of stamped images from the Hello Life sets looks on the corner here. Don't you?
