Dawson and Paige are Engaged!
Over the weekend, our youngest (and only unmarried) child Dawson got engaged to his beautiful girlfriend (now fiance'), Paige. Where did the time go? He was just born yesterday, right?
It was absolutely beautiful! They had scheduled to have photos taken together on Saturday, September 17 and he felt it would be the perfect time to officially propose. After all, his football number is 17 and it was the 17th. They have also set their wedding date for December 17. #17 is a big deal in their lives. He had me come down and help him set everything up earlier in the day so that when they got to the spot where they had chosen to have their photos taken, it would be there waiting. On top of that, having a photographer already there to take the pictures (and she secretly brought a videographer with her) was the perfect way to capture the special moment forever.
Dawson decided he wanted to write down 17 reasons he loves her, arrange 17 rocks into the #17, and tie a reason to each rock. That's where I came in. He sent me the reasons and then I made them into cute tags. I went down and helped him tie them to the rocks and set everything up before the photos. He also had a little necklace made that he tied with the tag to rock #17 that had a #17 charm on it. As they read each tag, we cut them off the rock and put them on a jump ring so that she could keep them forever.
She had absolutely NO IDEA what was coming and it was awesome. She was shaking like a leaf for an hour. Both Paige's mom and I were there to "help with the pictures," so we got to see the whole thing. BEST. DAY. EVER.
Here is the video. Grab a box of kleenex. You might need it.

March Play Group Scrappin' Class Layouts (Balloon Ride)
I thought I had posted the March Play Group layouts and shopping list a couple of weeks ago. That's what I get for thinkin'! I couldn't figure out why no long-distance Play Group orders were coming in. Well, that explains it. I apologize for the delay. The April pages will go up next week.
It's time to unveil the beautiful pages we will be making this month using the soft and beautiful Balloon Ride papers from Close To My Heart. Since I'm so late getting these posted, you can't participae in person this month unless you have already ordered. I wouldn't get your order in time for classes on Thursday and Friday this week. But, you CAN participate long-distance. If you are participating long-distance, you have until March 15 to get your orders to me. (801.360.9896, pedermom@aol.com)
The Balloon Ride papers are so versatile that you really could use these layouts for just about anything. I had fun using them for photos of our son, Easton's wife Daysha at their wedding in 2010, and the engagement photos of our son, Tannon and his fiance' Brookley. They get married next week!!!!!
After the layout photos, you'll find the shopping list. In order to participate you are only required to purchase the Basic Kit, but you are more than welcome to purchase the Better or Best, or add a few of those items to your Basic Kit. You'll see kit totals along with the shopping list.
Feel free to click on any image to see it larger and in more detail. For each layout I have included the layout with photos, without photos, and some detail shots. You might also notice that on the layouts without the photos I have listed the size of each mat for your convenience in choosing and cropping your photos.
