"Dotty For You" Workshop

Did you see my last post about the amazing Dotty For You paper pack that you can get from now until May 31 FREE or for only $5 ($19.95 value)?  Well, be sure to check it out! It's dottarific!

ANYONE who buys or gets a pack free is invited to participate in this workshop (Two 2-page 12" x 12" layouts and 10 cards and envelopes), either in person or long distance.  And, it's VERY reasonably priced! Here's the scoop: to participate you need to have a Dotty For You paper pack (which you can get between now and May 31 for FREE or for only $5 {see this post for details}).  In addition, you must purchase at least the Basic Kit.  After that, anything you choose to purchase is up to you. Keep reading for details and close-ups of all of the projects...

In designing this workshop, I took a look at some of the projects that Close To My Heart designed with the paper pack, and the went from there. Both of the two page layouts include one of the pages that CTMH designed as well as a companion page designed by me. I did make a few little changes to the CTMH pages to keep costs down.  A couple of the card designs also came from Close To My Heart and I just worked them a little bit to keep costs down a bit.

You can click on any photo in this post to see it larger and in more detail.

  • The Best Kit includes the stamp pads and stamps we will be using. If you are attending the workshop in person, I will have these items for you to use there. If you love them and want them for yourself, you may want to consider purchasing the Best Kit.
  • Items you will need to bring with you to the workshop: paper trimmer, adhesive of your choice, 3D foam tape, glue dots. I will supply all other supplies to be used there.
  • If you would like me to cut your workshop ahead of time for you, add $5 to the workshop cost.

  •  You are not required to purchase anything other than the basic kit. I do suggest the 'Better Kit' because then you will also have all of the accessory items you see on my layouts and cards.

May "Play Group" Scrappin' Class Layouts (Footloose)

May Play Group classes will be here before you know it (May 10 and 11), so NOW is the time to sign up. I'd LOVE to have you come to one of them, host one in your home with your friends, or even participate long distance. I'm confident you would enjoy what we do and be very happy with the projects you make!  Keep reading...

I need to hear from you no later than this Saturday, May 5 if you want to participate.  We will be making three 2-page 12" x 12" layouts using the "Footloose" kit that are so much fun. I have used them for photos of the recent Hawaiian Cruise that Dawson and I took together.  They'd also be great for swimming photos, vacation, poolside, beach, summer hikes.  The list is endless.  Just call or email me to sign up (801.360.98896, pedermom@aol.com).

Here are the layouts (click on any photo to see it larger and in more detail). I've shared the details of the class, the kits, and how to participate after the photos. If you are not familiar with my Play Group classes, scroll down the left side of my blog until you find the section called "Play Group Information" and read away!  Enjoy!

Layout 1: "Splash Zone"

 --------------------------

Layout #2: "Here Comes The Sun"
------------------------

Layout #3:  "Paradise Found"

Class Dates and Times to choose from:
Thursday, May 10, 7-10 pm (this class is in Pleasant Grove, UT)
Friday, May 11, 10 am - 1 pm (this class is in American Fork, UT)

You can also host this workshop in your home (in Utah) with your friends during the month of February and earn FREE hostess rewards (free CTMH shopping spree!) while you do it. If you are interested in doing that, please contact me (801.360,9896, pedermom@aol.com) and I'll give you all the details.

You can also participate in this workshop long-distance. If you choose to do so, just add $5 to the cost of whichever kit you choose for the extra shipping.  I suggest if you are participating long-distance that you at least order the "Better Kit", and any stamp pads we are using that you don't already have.  If you participate long distance, I am happy to stamp the items using stamp sets that aren't in the kit for you since you probably won't have the stamp pads and alphabet stamp (unless you order the "Best Kit"). That is my little gift to you if you participate long-distance.

Remember, in order to attend, you only need to purchase the Basic Kit. Anything above and beyond that is totally up to you. This month, I suggest you consider the Better Kit. The few items I've added there make a huge difference to your pages. If you already have any of the items in the Better or Best kits, just bring them with you to class.

May Play Group Shopping List (for your convenience, I have linked each product to it's page on my website so you can see them). You are only required to purchase the "Basic Kit" to participate. Anything above and beyond that is totally up to you. I personally recommend the "Better Kit".

Basic Kit
  • Footloose Workshop on the Go Packet (includes Workshop Stamp Set, Footloose Paper Packet, 2 extra sheets of White Daisy Cardstock, Wooden Badge Buttons, Instructional Brochure)
  • Karen's Cutting Guide
  • 1 extra sheet of White Daisy Cardstock
  • 1 extra sheet of Sweet Leaf Cardstock
Total:  $34.50 (add $5 to participate long-distance)

Better Kit = Basic Kit + the following products:
Total: $57.07 (add $5 to participate long-distance)

Best Kit + Basic Kit + Better Kit + the following products
Total: $115.51* (add $5 to participate long-distance)

*at this purchase level you qualify for the Stamp of the Month ("You are..") at only $5 ($17.95 value).

Call or email me with your order and to reserve your spot at a Play Group class (801.360.9896, pedermom@aol.com) by Saturday, May 5.

Artwork Feature on Jeanette Lynton's Blog

A couple of months ago I was invited to submit some artwork for possible publication on Jeanette Lynton's (owner, founder and CEO of Close To My Heart) blog (I hope you'll check it out).  I sent it in and then pretty much forgot about it. I have been watching so much beautiful art of other consultants that have been featured, and feeling inspired by it.

This morning, I was watching Lady and the Tramp with my beautiful 3 year old granddaughter, Daci when a little jingle came from my phone. I checked it to find a text from my dear friend, Jody congratulating me on being featured on Jeanette's blog.  WOWZA! What a FUN surprise!  Could this week get any better?  Having my daughter and her family here visiting for a week from Chicago, my son and his wife up visiting from Cedar City, a beautiful Easter with them all, and on top of that, to find out that the artwork of little-old-me was chosen to be spotlighted on Jeanette's blog?  Life is good.

April Stamp of the Month and Shooting with the Family

April is here and no foolin', this month's Stamp of the Month by Close To My Heart is a good 'un!

Remember Schultz from that old television show, "Hogan's Heroes?"  Dan-the-Man, my goofy hubby sure does.  When shopping in the Army surplus store not long ago, he channeled Schultz. Hilarious!  The April Stamp of the Month (15 stamp set called "You are...") was fun to use to create this layout.

This stamp set is a very versatile set for both scrapbooking and card making.  I love the two background stamps, the border stamps, and the big words.

If you spend $50, this set is yours for only $5 (a $17.95 value). You also have the option to purchase it for $17.95. Either way, it's only available during the month of April.  You can order it through me (801.360.9896, pedermom@aol.com) or through my website. Once your spend $50, you will be prompted to add it, or if you are purchasing it for the $17.95 price, enter item #S1204.
April Stamp of the Month - "You are..."
Here are a few close-ups of the layout:

I will list all supplies used on the layout at the end of the post but before I do that I had to share a little of what we did this weekend. Dan, Dawson and I traveled to Cedar City to watch Easton play in a spring scrimmage.   It was lots of fun. Afterward we all went out for lunch and then up in the mountains to shoot guns before we headed home. Dan and the boys love to shoot, so Daysha and I decided to join in the fun.  We really did have a fun time. The setting was gorgeous; up in the red rock mountains around Cedar City.  It's times like this, when we are together, that I wish ALL of us lived close. It's sad to me that Kori and her family are so far away in Chicago,  and nostalgic thinking how much fun Tannon (who is on a mission for our church in Spain) would have had with us all.  I guess the times we are apart just make the times we are together that much sweeter.
Easton, giving Daysha some rifle shooting tips
Bond, Dawson Bond.
Me, looking like a pro. At least I like to think so. Ha!
Even with ear plugs those guns are loud! Daysha looks so tiny next to Easton!
Dan, Dawson and Easton
Daysha was in charge of gathering as much 'junk' as she could find for us to shoot. She was proud of her stash.

I couldn't ask for a better family. I love them all so much!  Easton really couldn't have chosen a better wife.  Thanks for a fun day in Cedar City, Easton and Daysha.

Close To My Heart products used on the layout:  April Stamp of the Month (You are), Victory Level 2 Paper Pack, Chocolate Stamp Pad, Foundry Metal Binder Clips, Pewter Designer Brads (retired, but our Pewter Badge Buttons are almost identical), Metal Brad Assortment, Blue Striped Ribbon (retired), 3D Foam Tape.
