Simply Inspired Free To Be Me Blog Hop

Welcome to another Simply Inspired Blog Hop!

I get so excited about these Simply Inspired blog hops and am so honored to be included in such a talented group of artists!  I'm sure this hop will not disappoint! We are working with the beautiful FREE TO BE ME papers that Close To My Heart has introduced for May only, National Scrapbooking Month.  This bright, fun and cheery paper packet can be yours for only $5 with a $50 qualifying purchase.  Head on over to my website to start shoppin'! You'll be prompted to add your paper pack before you check out.

Your paper pack includes:

If you have come here from the very fun and fancy Melissa Laverty's blog, you are on the right path. This blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way all around. If you get lost along the way, you'll find the complete list of participating consultants here.

Today I've chosen to create a layout using some of the softer colors in the packet (you can see the brighter colors in the post from yesterday and by checking back again tomorrow). The colors in this paper packet are so bright and cheery and I love them, but I had this recent photo of my hubby (Dan-the-Man) and I on Easter that I thought would look great with the soft apricot colored patterned paper in the pack. I played a bit and realized that the Juniper/ Lagoon pattern complemented it nicely as well.  I added in a bit of Sky Cardstock to go with Dan-the-Man's shirt and....voila! A soft, Easter layout with a few pops of bright was born.

I used our Smoothie Striped Washi Tape to cover some chipboard letters for my title.  I also incorporated that and our Lagoon Hounstooth Washi Tape throughout the layout as my 'featured accents'.  Love me some washi!  In addition to the Washi I strategically placed a few Aqua Dots to draw your eye around the layout.  Wondering where those cute word strips came from? Well, wonder no more!  They came right from the Free To Be Me paper pack. At Close To My Heart, we don't miss an opportunity to give you MORE.  Our B&T papers (patterned papers) include a border strip across the top.  These words are one of the three (2 of each) border strips you'll get in the Free To Be Me pack.

Here are a few detail pics:
How cute is our "Feathers" stamp set? I used this set over and over with the Free To Be Me papers. Be sure to check back tomorrow where I'll share several projects I made with this pack and created a kit for you with. As you can see, I also used quite a bit of 3D foam tape to add some visual interest by popping a few things up on the layout. I love that look! In fact, I go through 3D foam tape like water!

I love the Springy candy cane feel of the letters covered in Washi Tape as well as the washi tape accents around the layout, don't you?

Now hop on over to the beautiful and bonafide beyond fantastic Bren Yule's blog to see her work!  Be sure to visit all of the Close To My Heart Consultants in the hop to get some great crafting ideas.  There are 15 of us hoppin' this time and you won't want to miss a single project.

Beautiful combination of those soft colors and it's fabulous with that lovely picture. I love adding in the Washi Tape, especially to cover the Dimensional Element letters in the title. Super cute.
