Today I'm sharing a card set I created using one of my favorite new stamp sets from Seasonal Expressions 2, Wavy Blooms.
I am a big fan of Jennifer McGuire. I follow her blog and love learning new techniques there. I learned a GREAT one last week here that I quickly put to work on these cards. I'm calling it finger coloring with pigment inks. I'll show you a closer look at each card plus a close up of each flower in just a sec, but first, here is a link to Jennifer's video on how to use this technique: https://youtu.be/zPURIH91VcU. Trust me! You want to watch it!
Here are a few quick written instructions:
- Heat emboss your lined image with white embossing powder on white paper.
- Using pigment inks, dab your finger on and then use it to 'finger paint' in the area. Keep using and overlapping several different colors until you get the look you want. Pigment inks wipe off of your fingers pretty easily, so just keep an old towel or rag handy and wipe your fingers off between colors. Use several colors to shade your image.
- Take your rag and gently wipe the inks off of your embossed lines of your image.
- Sprinkle the entire image with clear embossing powder, shake off the extra, and heat. Voila! Gorgeous!
Here is a detail photo of all of the flowers. If that doesn't make you excited about Spring, I don't know what will? I think this technique is AMAZING with flowers.
