Happy National Scrapbook Day!

As you know, May is National Scrapbooking Month, but did you know that there is an actual National Scrapbooking Day?  Well, there is...and it's TODAY!  Happy National Scrapbooking Day!

I challenge you to scrapbook at least one page or layout today to celebrate!  I'd love for you to comment on this post and tell a little about what you scrapbooked! Was it something recent or something from years ago? Was it an event, like a birthday or Christmas? Or was it just an every day occurance? I love all of those things, but I think my very favorite things to scrapbook are just the every day things.

FOR EVERY COMMENT, I WILL ENTER YOU IN A DRAWING FOR THIS FREE STAMP SET ($17.95 VALUE).  I WILL BE DRAWING THE WINNER ON TUESDAY MORNING, MAY 10 AT 7 AM (MOUNTAIN TIME) AND WILL BE ANNOUNCING THE WINNER THAT AFTERNOON ON MY BLOG.

This layout about my hat is an example of scrapping the every day. As I look back over my scrapbooks, I love seeing the 'event' pages. They are fun and full of memories, but I love even more the pages that tell 'my story.'  These are the pages about things I (or my family) do in our every day lives. These are things that my posterity, for generations to come, will look at and learn a lot about me (and hopefully cherish).  THIS is why I scrapbook.

For this layout, I used lots of different washi tapes to go from the top to the bottom of the right hand side of the page. Some of these washi's are retired, but some are not. I've included a products used list at the very end of this post for you, and the washi tapes you can still get are on that list, complete with photos and links.  I also incorporated some of the word stickers and complements from the Calypso Complements pack, as well as a few Calypso Sequins.  I love the bright colors on this layout!

I scrapbooked a page about the 4th of July from last year. I used some old elemental paper scraps. Trying to use my old paper up!

I scrapbooked a couple of recent events for my kids. They are making great decisions as they transition into adulthood, and I wanted pages that showed my love and pride for them.
