Simply Inspired Blog Hop: Skylark 6" x 6" Card

Welcome to another Simply Inspired Blog Hop!  I love being part of this group of talented Close To My Heart women and that periodically we can all combine our talents to give you a hop that is sure to inspire. This time we've chosen to focus on the gorgeous Close To My Heart Skylark products. Did you know that the Skylark Paper Pack, Skylark Complements Dimensional Elements, and the Skylark Assortment are just a few of the products that are included in the New Consultant Kit?

If you have come here from the kind-hearted, artistically endowed Bren Yule's blog you are on the right path. This blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way all around. If you get lost along the way, you'll find the complete list of participating consultants here.

I chose to create a 6" x 6" card.  I used the Skylark Paper Pack and the Skylark Assortment, and mixed and matched in a few other fun Close To My Heart products that I thought complemented the Skylark line beautifully.  At the end of this post, you can find photos and links to these products on my website.

I especially had fun mixing in  the two My Crush Bluebird Memories Assortment.  These little packs are great for your My Crush books, but are great for cards and scrapbook pages as well. I find myself pulling them out whenever I need a fun accent somewhere on a project.  The fleur de lis background, hello square, purple flower (which I fussy cut from one of the little cards int he pack), and the someday strip all came from this packet. And, at only $4.95 for 26 journal spots, alphabets, stickers and mini-envelopes, this little ditty is a STEAL!

You may have also noticed that the bird, the tag, and the striped banner strip are all part of one of the background and texture papers in the Skylark Paper Pack. I just cut those little puppies out and used them as  I would a stamped image.  Voila!

I also brought in the new Chevron Embossing Folder to add some texture to my White Daisy Cardstock side strip.  In fact, our last Simply Inspired Blog Hop featured the new assortment of folders if you want to go back and take a peek.  There are several other products I've chosen to mix in and you can see them all at the bottom of this post. One of the things I love about Close To My Heart is that they create collections that have products that coordinate beautifully (like the Skylark collection) but also create stand alone products that are perfect for mixing.

Don't you love how the Memories My Crush Assortment brings the colors of Skylark together with a vibrant purple? I do!

As always, I've used lots of 3D Foam Tape to create texture and interest to my project. I love how much visual interest that adds to my cards!

Now hop on over to the beautiful Blythe Shupe's Blog to see her work!  Be sure to visit all of the Close To My Heart Consultants in the hop to get some great crafting ideas.  There are 15 of us hoppin' this time and you won't want to miss a single project.
