July Play Group Layouts and Information (Zippidee)

I'm very excited to share some more artwork with you today. The coolest part of all is that this artwork can be YOURS (of course with your own pictures and journaling) if you attend my Play Group class in July. If you are not familiar with my Play Group classes, you can read more about how it all works on the left side of my blog under "Play Group Information." They are held at my home in Highland, UT.

We will be using the Zippidee Kit in July to complete our three 2-page 12" x 12" layouts. Zippidee is a perfect complement to Disney photos, but as you can see in my layouts, is also a great companion to almost anything fun!

Play Group Dates and Times to choose from in July:
Tuesday, July 20, from 10 am - 1 pm
Tuesday, July 20, from 7-10 pm
Wednesday, July 21, from 10 am - 1 pm

We will be making the three 2-page 12" x 12" layouts you see here. Feel free to click on any of the photos of the layouts to see them larger and in more detail.

You don't have to attend the class to participate. You can also participate long distance. Just add $5 to your total if you want to participate long-distance. Another Hedgie...July Stamp of the Month

As I promised yesterday, you will be seeing a new piece of art every day between yesterday and Monday.

Today's artwork is another card I made using the July Stamp of the Month, Happy Forever (D1423). The CTMH products I used are the same as the list I shared yesterday, except for those darling little flowers. They come from the Just Blooms Paper Flowers Spring Blossom Collection (Z1266).

To get Mr. Hedgie, all you need to do is scroll down to yesterday's post and all of the information is there. After that, head to my website, click on Shop Online, and go to town!

Have a Fantastic Friday!

Close To My Heart's July Stamp of the Month and Artwork

Did you see the magic word in my post title today? You know, that "artwork" word? Well, I actually have some to share today and it is featuring the oh-so-cuter-than-cute July Stamp of the Month (D1423-Happy Forever). Those of you that know me know that I am not usually a 'cutesy stamper.' I tend to lean more to the shabby chic, or clean lines, or elegant kind of looks in my cards, but this little hedgehog has stolen my heart. I think he will probably steal yours as well!

I colored my little hedgie with watercolor pencils. The grass is torn to look kind of grassy, and the blue houndstooth paper complemented the look just right. Both papers came from the beautiful Splendor paper pack.

CTMH products used: White Daisy Cardstock (1385), Splendor Level 2 Paper Pack (X7124B), Jingle Level 2 Paper Pack (X7115B), Black Stamp Pad (Z2105), Watercolor Pencils (3505), Tombow Blending Pen (3174), Corner Rounder (Z578), White Daisy Mini-Medley Accents (Z1136).

Speaking of artwork, I have several pieces to share over the next few days. You will find a new piece of art on my blog each day between now and Monday, when I leave for Washington, DC for the CTMH National Convention.

Have you noticed how hedgehogs have popped up all over the place the last 6 months or so? Well, of course CTMH did and created a stamp set that can't be beat! The creators at CTMH are always on top of the latest trends and styles. The actual size of the carrier sheet of the stamp set is 6" x 6". "Happy Forever" includes 4 different hedgehogs and 3 sentiments, and 2 small accent stamps.

This set can be yours in several different ways:
  • earn it FREE when you spend $100 or more (before shipping and tax)
  • earn it for 75% off ($5.74) when you spend $75 or more (before shipping and tax)
  • earn it for 50% off ($11.74) when you spend $50 or more (before shipping and tax)
  • earn it for 25% off ($17.21) when you spend $25 or more (before shipping and tax)
  • purchase it for full retail price ($22.95)
Just hop on over to my website to begin shopping. And, have a WONDERFUL stampin' and scrappin' day!

Cherry on Top Blog Award

Be sure to scroll down. This is my 2nd post today.

Thanks to my buddy, Brenda for giving me this award!

The rules for this award:
1. Thank the person who gave this award to you (check. see above)
2. Copy the award and put it on your blog. (check. see above)
3. List three things which you love about yourself. (check. see below)
4. Post a picture you love. (check. see below)
5. Tag five people you wish to pass this award on to (I hope I won't be in too much trouble for just doing 3 this time. check. see below).

3 things I love about myself:
1. I am enjoying my 40's. Other than the decline of my physical body, I love the way it feels to be in this stage of life. I feel so much more peaceful and content than I did in my younger years.
2. I am so glad that I chose to be a wife and a mother. I cannot think of anything in my life that has even come close to bringing me the joy that these two roles have. I LOVE that I love my life!
3. I am a pretty creative person and I love this outlet in my life. How many people get to do something they love every day for a living? I love what I do!

A Photo I Love:
This isn't a particularly great photo of me, but I love what it means. Last week we had a family picnic and took this photo. It shows 5 generations. L-R: my sweet daughter, Kori; my precious granddaughter, Daci, me, my beautiful mother, Nedra; my amazing grandmother, Winona (who is 91 years old!). Family is everything!

The five people I would like to pass this on to are:
1. Kori Roberts at Streebor.blogspot.com. This is my beautiful daughter who I love with all my heart. Her blog will come to mean even more to me now that she and her hubby, Rick and their beautiful little girl, Daci have just moved to Chicago. She also has a great business you should check out making head-bling for babies: www.babybandsandbling.blogspot.com
2. Melissa at http://fancymelissa.blogspot.com. Melissa is such a caring and giving person and has spent so much time helping me with things she is an expert at. THANKS, friend!
3. Carma at http://stampwithheart.blogspot.com. Carma is one of my wonderful downline who has a heart of gold!

Jackpot June Deal for June 30 and More, More, More!

Did you think I had fallen off the face of the earth? Well, I almost did. Between preparing like a mad woman for teaching at the Close To My Heart Convention in July, getting things off the ground and filling orders for Lisa and my new Must Be Charmed business, having Kori, Rick and Daci move to Chicago this week (which I refuse to talk about), and then having my baby sister announce last Wednesday that she and her boyfriend got engaged and wanted to get married on Monday (as in day before yesterday), things have been CRAZY! Good crazy, but crazy!

Today is the last day of Jackpot June. It's a Goodie Box Day! Get a box filled with popular products at over 50% of retail value. Plus you'll get a deal on shipping/handling. Purchase today's Goodie Box, which has a retail value of $300 for only $125. That's not just a little bit more than 50% off, it's actually about 60% off! To order, head to my website (http://leavealegacy.myctmh.com) and click on "Shop Online" then "Jackpot June."

I know many of you are wondering if you will ever again see some original artwork posted by me. Never fear, after Convention I will have TONS! I have been working away making samples and displays for my class with brand new stuff from CTMH. Of course, it's top secret, but when I get home I will be able to begin showing you some of it. So for all of you artwork die hards, hang on.

I wanted to congratulate my sister, Gaylyne and her new hubby, James. I'm thrilled for both of them. It was a whirlwind week. They announced their engagement last Wednesday and got married Monday. I hope they find eternal happiness together. As we scurried to throw together a reception this week (I was in charge of the cake, floral arrangements, and photography), I was reminded again of how blessed I am to have found true love with Dan-the-Man. As I watched Gaylyne and James make vows and covenants with each other, I was reminded of the promises we made 25 years ago. Isn't love grand?

I am so blessed to have talented friends who helped me meet my wedding assignments this week. Thanks to Jenny for a simply BEAUTIFUL and elegant cake after I called just a couple of short days ahead to ask her to do it. I think she had 2 others to do the same day! Thanks to Chris for the most beautiful rose bridal bouquet I have ever seen! Thanks to my daughter, Kori for all of your help with everything...including the photography!

To my readers: thank you for your patience with me. Please don't give up on me. I hope to have more artwork to post soon, but you will be hearing very little from me until mid-July. I will be heading out for the CTMH National Convention this coming Monday and won't be back for a couple of weeks. I will be taking a laptop with me and will try to post a thing or two while I'm gone, but I can't promise.

Jackpot June Deal for June 26 and Dawson's Football and Basketball

I am not the best announcement girl the past couple of days. I am on my way out the door again for a day of Dawson basketball at Brigham Young University. Today's Jackpot June deal won't be announced until after I leave this morning again. So, be sure to check my website after 9 a.m. MDT today (http://leavealegacy.myctmh.com), then click on Shop Online and then Jackpot June to see today's deal. I'm sure it's as great as the rest have been!

Yesterday was a GREAT day of basketball. Dawson's team (Lone Peak's JV) went undefeated in their 4 games of pool play and begin today's final tournament round as the #1 seed from their pool. We could have anywhere from 3 - 5 more games today if we keep winning. My house is a wreck (who needs a clean house and clean laundry?), but we are having a blast.

Since all of the artwork I have been working on lately is top secret until after the CTMH National Convention in July, I thought I'd include a few photos from Dawson's 7 on 7 football tournament last Saturday (feel free to click on any photo to see it larger). Summer is a crazy time filled with both football and basketball at our house, and I wouldn't have it any other way!

Be sure to check out my website after 9 a.m. this morning to see the deal (http://leavealegacy.myctmh.com), then click on "Shop Online" and then "Jackpot June."

Thanks to those of you who visited our site (mustbecharmed.blogspot.com) and ordered. Lisa and I are so excited about all the orders we received this past week and the beginning to our new business. None of you who ordered came back here and commented and none of you who commented ordered, which puts me in a quandary as to what to do about a giveaway winner. So, I guess we will just leave it at that. THANK YOU to those of you who ordered. We are like busy little elves right now filling all of our orders. It is so much fun! If any of you have not had a chance to visit our site, I hope you will.

Our BEST sellers are our personalized and photo charms. I have pictured one that my daughter Kori ordered of her daughter, Daci here (each of our charms are 2-sided so you get to choose a front and a back. The two photos here depict the front and back of Kori's personalized order). If you want a personalized charm, just call or email us and we can discuss your order (Karen: 801.360.9896, Lisa: 503.701.8246, mustbecharmed@gmail.com).

Must Be Charmed and Blog Candy

Important Note: This post will stay at the top of my blog until Tuesday morning, June 22. I will still continue to post the daily deals for Jackpot June and fun artwork to match each of those days but they will appear directly below this post. Be sure to scroll down each day so you don’t miss an amazing Close To My Heart Jackpot June Deal!

I have a very exciting announcement this morning, accompanied by some pretty cool blog candy as well.

We wanted to share with you some GREAT NEWS!!!!! My wonderful friend, Lisa and I have decided to take advantage of this “great economy” and jump into a combined venture of custom jewelry. We have both been in business for ourselves for over 28 years and we have decided to pool our energies into a fun, creative endeavor. Don’t worry, I will still create wonderful scrapbooking and stamping classes each month with my Close To My Heart business and Lisa will continue to gently nurture people’s physiques through personal training. None of that will change a bit. We just wanted to do something extra that reflects all the wonderful reasons to celebrate our lives. Our handmade charms, necklaces and baubles do just that.

Please go to our blog www.MustBeCharmed.blogspot.com to see what we have been up to. We are sure you will find many charms that can showcase all the wonderful things your life has brought you.

Now onto the BLOG CANDY! Anyone who goes to our site (www.mustbecharmed.blogspot.com) and purchases ANYTHING between now and Monday, June 21 by 7 pm MDT, then leave a comment here letting us know you have purchased, and your name will be put into a drawing for a 1.5” x 1.5” charm ($20 value) of your choice, absolutely FREE. You can choose something that is standard on our site, or you can even choose a personalized charm. We aim to please!

We will be drawing the winner’s name on Monday night and then I will announce it here on my Karen Pedersen blog on Tuesday morning, June 22.

One last little note: If you are a Close To My Heart Consultant and would like to see the charms we have designed to commemorate the July 2010 National Convention (in Washington, DC), please email me at pedermom@aol.com and I will send you photos and our amazing discounted price list for these charms. They are great for yourself, or even as your gift for your team members or roomies at Convention!

Thanks!

Karen Pedersen
